Stick the coil cooking torch on it. If the flame is green, it certainly contains copper, if it's bright red it's probably strontium (In which case get a Geiger counter and check it), if the flame is bright yellow, you didn't wash your sweat off it first. Then look up flame spectra which ought to give some idea of what's in it.

Easy test for this. Float it in a bowl of water, if an iceberg comes along and sinks it it's genuine
