I normally use Sony and Panasonic 18650 batteries in all my devices, but I'm looking for some 18500 size for use in a mechanical mod. Anybody had any experience of any of the above all listed here from Ecolux

I've only heard a few mentions of Sibeile but all been positive. Not heard anything of AWT and the Panasonic NCR18500 is a new one I think.

Going by the standard of their chargers I'd say maybe try to avoid the AWTs.

If I was looking for 18500's I might be tempted to try those AWT's on paper they look good. Although the NCR's are li-ion they do have some built in passive protection in the form of (HRL)Heat resistant layer and (PTC) positive temperature coefficient NCR 18650The HRL is supposed to prevent overheating in short situations and the PTC makes the internal resistance spike upwards before it heats up dangerously. But I haven't looked to see if that NCR has all those features.

Anybody had any experience of any of the above all listed here from Ecolux Norbert has some Xtar IMR 18500s listed on your link which have 50% higher continuous discharge rate of the Sibeile (12 A vs 8 A), don't know what the Xtar batteries are like, but would expect them to be good.

hijack I found this NCR 18500 data sheet it does say some batteries are not equipped with PCT There's a post by baditude in this thread with more info. Although it's 2000mah the rating is only 3.8 amps so a bit on the limit for me. Cheers ronaldo I might just get a couple of both the AWT and Sibeile to give them a try.

Thanks for the links scoob, I had found that not all NCR's are the same, some have HRL others have HRL+PCT and others have HRL+PCT+CID or some combination of those. So its worth finding out before you buy. Ill check out those links now.
Edit: yes just on the low amp limit I would avoid the NCR18500.
