I've been searching around various sites trying to find the cheapest packs of coils and so far they've been priced at around £4.50+ for a pack of 5
I looked on fasttech and found a few fake/replica coils in packs of 5 for around £3 but I'm not sure if they're any good and/or if they'll even fit my protank mini 2
Just wanted to ask you guys if you know where the cheapest place is to buy coils from?
I would prefer genuine kangertech ones but I'm open to buying the replicas if you know of any good reliable ones.

Have you tried recoiling? Recoiling those heads is pretty simple. Lots of guides around. Like This one from super shinyYou can also use these prebuilt coils+wicks as an intermediate step in learning how to do it. Potentially 50 coils for under £2. Video for using these is here You'll get a better vape building from scratch but this can be a starting point for you. If you want to buy premade coils, stick with the genuine kangers. All the compatibles I've tried are inconsistent in quality.

Wow.... I didn't realise how simple the aerotank heads were I might have a go at that myself. Regarding the FT prebuilt heads, I'm using 'authentic' and 'style' ones and they both work REALLY well, I haven't had one failure yet

I've just started using the above mentioned recoiled heads by Jonco. If you can't microcoil yourself, or like me, are too lazy this are cracking!
I obviously don't know how long they'll last but I replaced a naturevape head which is the same, NR-R-NR microcoil with cotton wick and I've used it all day, every day since April.
Just rewick once a week.

I've had no problems using FT's authentic or otherwise Evod/Protank heads . . . though I can find the non genuine have a funky taste, so have done a bicarb soak in the past with them, Though it is super easy to recoil them, probably I break all the rules of coiling, but I use: www.fasttech.com/p/1591806Shove a little cottonwool on top, follow this short video and you're there amygx.

OK. After seeing and reading about recoiling all over the place I wasn't 100% sure it was for me, I'm a little clumsy and will probably end up causing a nuclear reaction or something lol. I've decided to give it a try and ordered the premade ones that Perpetua linked to on fasttech - start with those and work my up if I like it. Also added some juice, drip tips and supposedly authentic coils to my basket just to try. Why oh why can't I just buy the 1 thing I wanted to buy instead of ending up spending even more money icon_shoppingm Still it all came to less than £10 so can't really complain and I'll get a nice goody bag in the post soon Thanks for advice everybody.

I have both authentic and 'style' heads from FT and they work well. Once the factory wick degrades, I recoil them with microcoils and cotton wool and off we go again. The older style Kanger heads had a rubber grommet which tended not to last too long before getting a bit burnt, but the newer heads have a silicone grommet instead which apparently lasts much longer. I have yet to try any of these as my own microcoils last so bleddy long

I tired re-wicking a stock PT2 coil with cotton wool as my kanthal has yet to turn up, but am still getting the same dead coil taste from it, so I guess either the coil itself is beyond use, or the rubber has burned. the cotton itself is fine, I juiced it before putting the pin back and allowed plenty of time for soaking up.
thought I could take a shortcut to a new head but alas! looking forward to making my own microcoils though when the wire arrives.
