I have noticed the grommets need changing a lot on the V2 but I don't think I have changed any on the V1 either I wonder if they changed the grommet to a softer rubber or a rubber that rots with vg or pg MMMMMMMMMMMMM got me thinking now as I have just taken a delivery of new seals will experiment I think

The one I used that lasted longest was the grommet from an Innokin x1 head, that lasted for about 4 months. The worst was from an Evod coil, that lasted a week. LOL.

Looks brilliant so I'd like to do it to my MVP2 where the pin has come out. Only thing is I followed the link to buy the mod part and they've closed down. Does anyone know where else you could get one or what its name is ?
Cheers all Tim

striker42 looks like a good improvement. I've avoided the MVP2 due to the many posts I've read about the connector but it looks like you've got it all in hand. I'll send you mine if I get one then

Just completed the atty connector replacement on an MVP 2 using the fat daddy 510 connector rather than the varitube version. Firstly there is no need for the 22mm top ring as it hangs over the side and the edges like Bernard Mannings arse cheeks on a bike, a bit ugly and untidy. So here is the Fat Daddy connector For this repair, disregard the 22mm ring and the negative ring connector. The ring connector is ideal but not for the MVP repair as to use it would mean a lot more drilling, filing and the risk of destroying the top cap so I chose to use the securing nut for my negative connector and drilled a small hole through it to feed the wire through then solder for a good connection. Solder a small piece of wire to the centre pin Feed the new connector through the hole in the top cap and attach to securing nut. I used a 13mm spanner to hold the nut and tightened the connector with a large screw driver using the cross slots on the top of the connector for leverage. You will see in the pictures the corner that has to be cut from the board frame to allow room for the securing nut. Connect the positive wire from the 510 to the unit, attach the board to the frame, slide the top cap back into the unit, replace the srews, the fire button, and its good to go. The only real difference in the two connectors is that the Fat Daddy connector is a larger profile and looks a bit more robust than the varitube version. But both work equally well. As ever anybody undertaking this repair please do so in a safe manner, be aware of and check for stray wires and insulate where possible.

I'd say def go with the fat daddy just for the better connector, you solder to the bottom of the center pin itself where as in the varitube you solder to the bottom cap and current travels through the spring to the connection at the top pin. It's a shame because I like the thinner profile of the 22mm varitube compared to the thicker 2 piece fat daddy. I bought a varitube for the build i'm making at the moment but turned a new center pin for it.

I've still got 10ml of the high profile liquid that I don't like anymore. I loved it once upon a time. PM me your address again I deleted it, I'll send you it this week. I don't have an MVP but if I get one the offer is duly noted lol Jay
