Its fairly easy. First, you have to remove the button before you do anything. When this is being done you have to remove the switch from the pc board and be very careful as there is a small, very small, magnetic contact point that will come out. If that gets lost then its game over. Unscrew the top and gently prize the complete top piece off. The pc board is attached to a frame on the inside of the top cap by two Philips screws, unscrew them and release the pc board. The top cap will now only be attached to the main body by the positive and negative wires. Grey wire positive and white wire negative (well it is on mine ). Cut the wires, and the top cap will be completely free of the main body and easy to work on. Remove the centre pin and use a dremmel or similar with a cutting disc and cut off the ego and 510 connector as close to the décor ring threads as possible. Using a standard drill, start off with an 8mm drill bit then 9mm and finally 10mm to drill out the hole for the new spring loaded connector to fit in as it has a 10mm housing. During this process the décor ring threads will pop off. With the cutting disc, you then need to cut the back corner out the pc board housing to allow the nut room to fit over the threads to tighten the new connector. I then soldered a small piece of insulated wire to the centre pin of the new connector and assembled it. After inserting the new connector to the top cap and tightening the securing nut, I soldered another small piece of wire to the securing nut. The wires were then soldered to the appropriate wires + and - on the main body of the device and insulated using heat shrink. Re fit and secure the pc board with the two screws and carefully insert the top cap back into the main body of the device making sure not to trap the wires anywhere. Secure the top cap with the four retaining screws and re fit the switch. If the small magnetic contact is inserted back to front the device with try to fire continuously, remove turn it round re fit and device should be good to go with a new 510 spring loaded, hopefully trouble free, connector. It may sound a touch long winded and difficult, but when the device is stripped down, it becomes apparent when you see It, what you need to do. Any questions just ask and I'll try and help out.
Should maybe have stated at the start to clear up any confusion, and as the title of the post states, this fix/repair is for an MVP 2, this process will not work on an MVP 1. And as ever folks, please be careful when working with these devices. We all want our vaping to be a pleasant and enjoyable experience. If you feel that you don't have the capability or confidence to carry out modifications then please err on the side of caution.

I always remembered what @super-Shiny told me "plan well ahead" So with that in mind, the whole process took me 5hours start to finish. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4hours looking and thinking about it and only actually an hour to do the job

Mine would be 18 hours thinking about it..6 hours talking myself out of it..2 hours attempting it and 3 and a half hours sitting in accident and emergency trying to explain why my hand was missing

Not too clever at this picture posting. Need to get some instructions. But here are a few anyway, hope this helps.
Thanks striker42 That looks so much better than the standard mvp 510 connector. Might finally persuade myself to buy one What year are you planning that for dalealan

Plus it only comes in one colour

Can't disagree there ronaldo, you'll know mods with circuitry better than most here so a +1 from you should be a reassurance to anybody thinking of buying one. Have one myself and its never missed a beat, but I do know that some members have had some issues with them. As time goes by I'm favouring box mods but I wouldn't part with my SVD.

its always the same faults though and if you look after them they last long enough and for the price you cant fall off really and very good as a first mod

So maybe this would work with a V1 provided there is enough room on the internal side of the top cap for the securing nut ( failing that you could always use epoxy etc to secure it). The funny thing being my V1 has never had any issue with the grommet on the centre pin.
