Is this a sensible combination

I'm really liking my Riva-T Tank but from a travel perspective and general carry in pocket, it can get a little sticky.

So I'm thinking of getting a couple of boxes of Boge 510 Standard Resistance cartomisers to use on the Riva-T

Also, looking at getting a Joye eGo-T 1000mAh battery

so I can try out some dual coil cartomisers

....and finally....

Will the USB charger I got with my Riva-T work with this battery?

I believe you might be better going for LR cartos with an Ego battery - they give
out a bit lower voltage than Rivas.
As regards the charger, it will probably be ok (others might know better).

I'm not 100% sure about the charger to be honest Andrew, as I've not had an Riva-T, but looking at the photo's on Jason's it certainly does look to be compatibile.

Like Dom, I'd also go for Low Resistance . . .

Hi Andrew i would opt for the LR boges too, at 2ohms they will give you a much better experience and should be ok for use on your riva without causing any of the failure issues that anything lower would cause.
the charger will be fine i would imagin but if you wanna double check then just take a look at the output ampage my ego charger outputs 420ma and i would be pretty sure your riva will be very similar

With the charger it's kind of a suck it and see job it will certainly attach without problems and "shouldn't" give you charging issues .. As suggested i'd go for LR cartos (the ego will use both) but at 3.7v (the ego batt gives out 3.7v constant where as the riva starts at 4.2 and slowly decreases) the LR cartos will work better for you - they are also good on the riva

As Gordy says, them be the ones & yes, as they aren't as low resistance as the dual coil LR's, they should be fine to use on the Riva as well as the ego.

Confuses me a bit why exactly is it not recommended

They are fine mate, the difference is as stated above somewhere that the dual coils are low res at 1.5 ohms and draw a large amount of current very quickly which can burn out some of the switches on some e-cigs, the boges are also low res but at 2.0ohms they are not as low res as the dual coils and the switches can handle the power draw just fine.

Meaning these would be ok to try as well? Seen a few people raving about them but been staying clear of LR due to jasons little passage about recommendations

Yes mate, 20ohms is fine.
What you need to remember is , a freshly charged riva is pushing out 4.2v and when you have a 1,5ohm draw on it there is a LOT of power taken out at one time. When the battery level falls to lower levels then there is not so much power going through the switch.
