Evening all,
I recently got hold of an 18350 caravela mech mod which i'm now running a kayfun lite plus on. Very nice vape it is Think i'm a mech/rba convert now!
My question is, when do you swap for a fresh battery? I'm currently running a micro coil that is somewhere around 1.5 - 1.8 ohms (can't actually measure it at the moment as the atty I have won't fire on my mvp but that's another story) I've been vaping on it for a few hours and then swapping to a fresh battery when it drops off a bit. When I read the voltage on a multimeter it's usually around 3.7 volts. Is this usual or do people run their batteries for longer?
I've read it's safe enough to let it go down to about 3.3 volts... correct?
I guess I could have another tank with a lower resistance coil on it and put it on when the other one tails off to get some extra life out of the battery?

I swap mine when they are about 3.6 to 3.7. I wasn't sure how ow to let them go so I measured the voltage on a vamo when the vape quality dropped off to find the voltage. Anything lower than that and its not a good vape at all. What you are doing sounds right to me, just change when it starts to drop off a bit and lose a bit of vapour production and flavour. If you are worried about it you could use a kick if you have a tube that it will fit inside.

Do as you are sonic, I find a noticeable drop in performance around 3.6v and change then. It is safe to go to 3.3v -3.4v but not a satisfying vape imo.

You get a noticeable drop off of vapour production at around 3.6v, I swap them out then.

Thanks for the replies folks. Sounds like i'm on the right track then. I'm not really up on ohms law and all that at the moment but if I were to swap to say a 1 ohm or lower coil when it tails off would I be able to go on getting a decent vape of the same battery down to 3.3/3.4 volts?
I was experimenting with twisted kanthal coils the other day and put one in the kayfun, again not quite sure what ohm it was but I think around 1ish (4/5 wraps of 0.2mm twisted) but I had to take it out because I was getting too hot a vape off it for me.

^ what they said ^ and regularly empting your batteries reduces their life.

Yes, should have mentioned ^ that ^
Re ohms law if you vape a new battery with a 1.8ohm coil 4.2v will give you 9.8w
When at 3.6v you'll notice a fall off because it'll be 7.2w
Change to a 1.3ohm coil at 3.6v you're back to 9.9w
(Hope I've done my sums right)
But lower ohms mean quicker drain.
