Good news: my Troy X turned up today and it looks great. Bad news: I can't have until my birthday good news: it got through customs fine bad news: the body is so tightly screwed on I can't get it undone. Any tips please! ive tried freezing it, but still couldn't get them to budge. My usual trick to put some welly in with a pair of pliers hasn't worked, and I don't want to damage the atty. would boiling help?

Know anyone with a lathe ? a lathe chuck gets a good grip on round things with little risk of marking the finish .

ionianJust looked at some images of one on google -- ermmm, looks like a left hand thread between top cover and coil platform.

Thanks to everyone that's posted - the prize goes to Brambles. I froze it, boiled it, tried voodoo magic before I came back and checked this thread. The drip tip and base are right handed threads, but the two body sections are left handed. Came apart first time! At least I have it sorted and don't have to send it back to turkey...

I love filler atties, I've got xploras and herons already but got this because of great reviews, not least from 300 on this forum: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/39257/troy-show-tellI haven't seen any reviews of the mini yet, but I'll keep my eyes open. I'm not sure I like the square top on the mini, but if it has adjustable airflow like the big one it'll be more versatile than other 16mm filler atties.

I'm missing my Xplora and thought I'd scope the market before buying and the idea of a 16mm hybrid really appeals.

My bad, should've mentioned reverse threading, very sorry M8. Might not be a bad idea to make this clear on their website. To get mine undone at first i screwed it on a 20 x 1 mod in hybrid mode & applied a little extra force. Wasn't too keen on the Troy X mini at first sight, i think they should have stuck to the same shape up top as the 22mm Troy X but the more i think about it the more i think it would be great for the Gizmo, the thing that might swing it for me is if the hybrid threading was compatible with other 14500 mods, i'll wait for someone else to buy & try, i'm sure someone will try it out & post their findings somewhere, i did ask the question in a thread over the road on UKV as someone had bought one & recommended it but i got no response. Another problem is that i have a collection of Spheroids, can i justify buying something that would most likely render them all redundant? Hope you enjoy yours as much as the ones i've got here, i love 'em.
