upvc lock change?

went out shopping today when i come home i left my key in the frontdoor some little toe rag has pinched it, does anyone have a rough price or idea as how much it will cost to get the locks changed? its the upvc doors that you push the handle up and turn key to lock, then to open it you do the same, thanks

if you can change them yourself they are about a tenner in screwfix if you cant change them yourself they are about a hundred quid each fitted

Hope you didn't have car key on the key ring £££ to change those, unless you haves digital keys and a computer link & software to disable it.

have all my keys seperate thank god, and 100 quid, am i right in thinking those kind of doors have a double barrle so even if there is a key on the inside and the door is locked, it can still be opend with a key from the outside

This video will show you how easy it is to change a lock. You will need a key tha fits. If it was your only key then it can still be done but will require a lot more work. Maybe a case of removing a handle and snapping the look with a sharp blow, or may mean drilling the barrel out. I suspect you have a spare keys so will be no problem. Eurolocks are readily available and you just need to know the size. See the video.
To answer another point raised by a poster, normally when a key is inserted and left in on one side, slightly turned or more, you cannot operate the lock with a key on the other side.

I work for a big window company hence the name.
If you lock it from the inside and leave the key in and turn to a position so you can't pull it out it will not be possible to unlock it from the outside. The reason for this is that tumblers will not be in the right position to allow another key to inserted. It will also stop the possibility of the inside key being pushed out.
Once you get it out make sure that you get one the same length and with the same offset each side of the center operating lug.

you should be able to change them quickly and cheaply and screwfix is open on sundays so I would do it as soon as possible mate
