Hi folks me again,, I have a question about coils, after doing a bit of research I'm upgrading my rubbish kit to the mini Pro-tank 3's, the guys at my local shop are offering me a good deal for 2x 900 Mah Batteries, 2x Mini Pro tank3's, 5 Duel coils and the charger, I have found the whole kit at the same price but it comes with 2x 600Mah Batts plus a bit of postage, so I'm supporting my local shop, the question I have is what difference do the coils make, the ones I have at the moment are single coil and 1.5 ohm, but I noticed they do 3 different Ohm versions, I think the Pro tanks come with 1.5 Ohm coils, is there any benefit to changing them to one of the others or should I just stick with the 1.5,s???

mowjo - the higher the resistance to cooler more mellow the vape. Lower resistance coils allow more power to the coil, resulting in a hotter more vapouricious (making up my own vocabulary now!) vape. Bear in mind also that lower resistance coils will discharge your batteries a bit more quickly too. 1.8 ohm coils are a good middle ground, and would be what I opt for in this case. You can always order some others for experimentation or if you don't like the resultant vape. Would your local B&M be prepared to do a selection - 2 x 1.5, 2 x 1.8 and a 2ohm? Nothing ventured, nothing gained

I'd go with 1.8 or 2 ohm if your using an ego battery. If you go with 1.5 firstly you'll run your battery down quicker and secondly you might experience a burnt taste and won't be able to prevent this on an ego. If your using a b&m why not pop in and ask them if you can try all three coils before you buy then you can buy what's best for you.

Good point there from Greg - as your batteries will not have Variable Voltage (VV) you have no way of altering the input power, so aim for 1.8 or 2.0 ohms.

Ah Ha! thanks folks, you have not only given me some good advice, but you may have solved a little problem I've been having, Re: the slight burnt taste! I get that all the time and thought it was just normal as I do all the cleaning and stuff I've read on here, I have 1.5 Ohms Ego and it could also explain why when I toot the testers in the shop there never taste as good, It could be they are using the 1.8 or 2 Ohm coils, have to ask them tomorrow when I go in, as the Pro's come with 1.5s and I'll have two I think i'll get 3x 1.8 and 2x 2 Ohm coils, I'm not bothered about clouds of Vape it's the taste I want, I have quite a few juices I bought because I loved the taste in the shop, but with my current kit when I got them home the slight burnt taste spoils them plus the Vape seems a bit too warm for me, I'll update this tomorrow once I get my new stuff,, Yipee!!!! it may be something that helps a few others newish to Vaping, once again thanks, can't be bad two problems solved with one question,,,

Anything lower and for me you need a better atty with more airflow and a better battery for longevity. You also need good wicking as if there's not enough juice you'll also get a burnt metallic taste. There are times when low ohms are advantageous but not on egos IMO.

Well so much for supporting my local shop! I spoke to them Friday and told them I wanted 2x 900 Mah Batteries, 2x Mini Pro tank3's, 5 Duel coils and the charger, and told them the price I had found online, as he told me he would match the price, but he only had one Protank 3 in stock and they were due in later that day, so I didn't order it online and told him I would be back in today, go there today to get them! speak to the same salesman, but suddenly the price had gone up by £9.00, I ask why it had gone up from the price he quoted Friday and got "I don't remember telling you that price" Mrs was with me and tells him she was with me and the price he quoted, lots of Ermmms and Ahhhhs then he says "that's the best I can do, anyway you'll have to pay postage so it'll work out the same" I didn't mention the online price was with Freepost, the thing is if it was just a couple of quid I would have bought it, but his whole attitude plus the fact it had gone up by £9.00 was a no! no! I won't mention the shops name as it's fairly new here and I really don't want to do anything that might damage his business, with his attitude he won't need any help from me, I won't be using them again, I came home and looked a more reviews for the Protank 3 and the Evod Glass on Soulvapes, plus a couple of side by side reviews, and have now decided to go for the Glass instead as I like the look of it better and there seems to be very little difference in them, apart from looks and the tank is a little bit bigger on the Glass, and as I'm clumsy I'll be less likely to break the glass tank on the glass, My order has now gone in to MyEpack....

Sorry to hear about your unsuccessful attempt to support your local shop. With an attitude like that, they deserve to go to the wall quite quickly. Having had personal experience of a new B&M shop, and being a regular customer, I know a little better how a shop should be run. It's such a shame that vendors 'on the ground' don't have the sense to realise that not only have they lost your custom, but it is now highly unlikely that you would recommend them to anyone else locally either. If you want to be successful in business, remember the customer is always right (even when they're wrong!) Here's hoping that you will be totally satisfied with your new goodies from Myepack when they reach you; do remember to post with updates, we are really nosy and would love to know how you get on!

There's too many shops like this. Selling chinese ego and ce4 clones with the sole purpose of lining the vendor's pockets.
We have a list of vendors, please try and stick to them. Being a shop don't make them trustworthy.
I hate these fly-by-night money grabbers. Unfortunately there's no way for us to put them out of business. For every 1 wise vaper there's 4 just wanting to buy the cheapest, and that unfortunately never works out to be the cheapest option, and frankly just feeds their GREED.
We've all been there and we've all learned from the experience. Better to wait a couple of days for kit from a reputable vendor than waste your money in a shop like this one.
Name and shame, right now, right here.
(You may have noticed this is my pet hate)
My town is full of them, that's why I travel to Doncaster or order my kit online.

Ripshod! I've spoken to someone else that uses the shop and found out the guy I dealt with is actually the owner, which actually makes it worse, I've been using them a couple of months now and never dealt with him before, the other two guys that work there couldn't be more helpful and have even told me not to waste money on something until I'm into Vaping for a while, he pointed out that a lot of people start Vaping for a month or two then give it up, so keep it cheap to begin with, we have another shop here that I've been told is a franchise, they are well over priced and the two people that run it seemed like they knew less than I do about Vaping, I went in there to get a price for the Kit I mentioned, but they didn't do the new Evod Glass and the MP3 wasn't due in until the end of the month, I asked about Coils and if the Ohms made a difference, he had no idea, and I mentioned something about stealth Vaping and had to explain to him what it was, It looks like I'll be doing all my shopping on line now, I'll just have to plan everything in advance, it may have been a genuine mistake and he had forgotten he gave me a price, but it was his attitude that did me, all he had to do was say sorry I made a mistake with the price, I'd still have walked away £9.00 is £9.00 in my pocket, but I would have still used the shop and spent a lot more money with him,,,,

The two in the first shop, personally I'd still visit them (note I don't say 'buy' there) - but not the owner. Keep an eye on the place, they seem to change ownership frequently and there's always the chance someone good may take them over.

Its pretty common to find B&M staff that don't even know what products the shop is selling or has in stock or what they are. I went into one asking if they had one of those little bridgeless drippers that's you can use to test juices and he said he didn't know what one of them was. So I pointed to one sitting in the display cabinet and he said he thought it was a drip tip. So he took it out and I showed him how you used it. Fair play to him though he did let me have it for free when he couldn't find the price of it either

Great news my Evod Glass kit turned up from MyEpack a couple of hours ago, Whooopeeee! Now a little update on the price problem with my local shop, I was walking past it this morning and saw the two salesmen sitting on the table outside drinking Coffee, so I stopped for a chat, anyway one asked if I bought my new kit from them on Monday and I told the no and why! much to my surprise one says I was there when he told you that and if you still want it I'll do it for that price, I explained I'd gone elsewhere in the end, and he seemed pretty annoyed he'd lost my custom, he goes in the shop and comes out with a 30ml bottle of the Vanilla Custard I was asking about Friday and says take this as a sorry for messing you about, we don't like loosing customers, I point out I didn't want to get him in trouble giving stuff away, he then tells me he's the co owner, and the other co owner is only there on Friday and Monday and if I didn't want to deal with him come in on the other days or make sure I deal with him on Mondays and Fridays, now I don't spend a lot, but he has restored my faith in this shop so I will be using it whenever I need too, I'm glad I didn't name and shame this shop now, I kind of gave them the benefit of the doub't but said I wouldn't use them again, I'll see how things go over the next month or so before I give them any praise, but things are looking good for then in my camp,,,,

Right as I said my Evod Glass kit came earlier, had it on the go for a couple of hours now and love it, I'll be back later to let you all know how I'm getting on, a sort of Mini Mow review,,,,,
