How does everyone get around the nosey old sod in the post office wanting to know the insides of a ducks arse when they are posting vape related bits? They are forever wanting to open my packages whatever I say are in them and I am running out of local offices to send this stuff.

I had a few bits to post off earlier, all well packaged and the old battleaxe in my usual office insisted she was going to open them!

I am using as much in petrol driving all over the place to post stuff than I am making I reckon!

I always tell my post office that they are plumbing components

I look them in the eye and say "Nothing that is on your prohibited list". So far that's shut them up. They have no right to open your packets!

I just say personal vaporizer, no batteries. They stopped asking after saying the same thimg nearly everyday lol

I was shocked when I visited the U.K. recently. I went to post a mini aerotank.

"What's in the parcel?"
"Um ... a stainless steal and glass thingy."
"We need more details."
"Um ... why?"
"It's the rules."
"Um ... why?"
"You can't send it unless you tell me what it is."
"Um ... ok, it is a mini aerotank." (that'll stump 'em, thinks I)
"Those are great!" The woman was a vaper heself!

We had a nice chat after that, the rules are stupid but it's easy to forget that that doesn't make the people forced to follow them daft as well.

The prices are ridiculous too. I could have sent it from Denmark for the same price and skipped the 20 questions Post is cheaper here, and faster. Wow, I enjoyed saying something is cheaper here, makes a change Cigarettes are about the only thing cheaper here

Sounds like a right jobs worth you have to deal with there.

I say 'Mechanical parts. Nothing that can catch fire, explode, or poison anyone.' That seems to satisfy them.

I say car parts for mods, batteries and tanks etc
And food flavourings for liquids.

There was a simillar thread a while back, and the best answer on it was

"A faulty sex toy" - you could always tell her it's used, and she's welcome to open it !

Personally I give the same as OneDay ,"Nothing on the restricted or prohibited list", then, as he said, they have no right to open it , and their are is covered. They have no reason to check, as you've already verified its OK to post.

Not sure when I'll be in the U.K next ... too long  Next year at the earliest and that's optimistic.

I'm happy to post something for you (so long as it ain't illegal  )  Would still be Royal Mail delivering it in the U.K. though.

Personal postal rates ... idk, I've never posted a person, think that sort of thing is frowned upon or I would have sent the kids somewhere ages ago

I too have resorted to describing mods as 'stainless steel tubing' but I think I'll go for saying 'plumbing parts' in future. It sounds so cool! I have been tempted to reply that they are 'marital aids/batteries not included' when I get the overly nosy hag that works there occasionally.... would be fun to embarrass her

I got accosted by a jobs worth to yesterday when I posted some bits to a member here.
Stoopidly I said e liquid, oh were in discussions about whether we should handle this or not.
I asked why
She replied because it's very dangerous .
I quoted the latest toxicity report to them about it should be same classification as washing up liquid.
Manager came over he was a vapour and had word with her.
Her attitude changed to painted on smile.

If what she said was true re royal mail not accepting it might cause problems. No idea how they could enforce it though.

I once ordered and received (through royal mail) some of these..............




but they sent me the wrong size. I informed them, and they told me to return them and they would ship out some more (correct size).

They never arrived back to the seller, when I enquired with royal mail, they said gas chargers COULD NOT be sent through the royal mail system.
Ok I said, so what happens now? they have been sent to be destroyed I was informed, where? they get sent to Ireland, how do they get there? sent by royal mail ???

That one baffled me for awhile.

It's not actually illegal, just a tad unusual...........but once the air has been let out of her, she fits nicely into a large Jiffy bag................................apparently.......... ??? .....................

It's actually a model nitro car coming from somewhere called Folehaven,Valby, wherever that is...........all I know is it's in Denmark somewhere.........
