I pity anyone who dares to face up to Clive Bates on this topic - they clearly haven't done their homework and are asking for trouble.
With the amount of vaping research and studies, papers and other scientifically-backed writing on the subject of vaping, there really is no excuse whatsoever for anyone stating so much dis-information.
Do Big T and Big P really think that to the last person vapers are unintelligent and innocent of any of this information? More importantly, do they realise the potential effect a press release like this might have on current smokers!?
World Health Organisation? - I really don't think so, not on this basis.

It's the old E-Lites tactic.

When you can't defend your position (or product) you just threaten legal action as money is more powerful than being wrong or right.



I would say such action is the work of desperation. If the WHO knew they were right, it wouldn't matter what people wrote or did.

Shame of it is, we have all taken that step into the unknown and tried out vaping to discover its the answer to our addiction. We are confident vapers and we all feel its the best innovation ever!

But if you were a smoker trying to quit?....all this press would leave you in doubt of trying it out. It's those people who could be reached that I pity, they may never try an e cigarette after all the misinformation they will read. Its so unfair!

the target isn't so much vapers but non vapers and the public in general. If they can convince the non vaping public it's a bad thing then not only will it deter smokers from switching but it will alienate vapers in the same way they did smokers.
Its all about the money, end of.

the number of people at work who tell vaping is bad for me cos I don't know what's in it and how it will explode and harm me is incredible. So based on my observations they are doing a great job getting the public on side with misinformation.
and that's the biggest challenge, vapers care about the misinformation and dig deeper to find the truth, the general public just read the headlines.
