single coil aerotank just done!

For those who don't know, I'm very numptyish when it comes to redoing heads, hence I don't bother.
Anyhoo, thought I'd have a go with a used aerotank head but single microcoil (bought from FastTech I hasten to add)
Chucked some cotton wool through it, wired it up, stuck it on a vamo and comes out at 1.5ohms.
Not actually tried it yet, I'm a bit scared but I'll get round to that eventually!
Didn't fire it up cos its dry cotton wool in there and last time I did, it disappeared into a fluff of fine ash!!
Will update in a month or eight ...

Oh oh @spikeyfridge don't know for definite as I don't have a Vamo but mods usually pass current through the coil when you check resistance so you may already of burnt the cotton

Best to juice the cotton up first before you stick the chimney back on

I found that out last time but seems OK this time. I'll kill this head I'm using then try my diy effort. On the plus side I have spare mega heads and got loads of protank heads. If I run out completely and recoiling doesn't work, I'm moving in with Super-Shiny

I'm sure it will work fine @spikeyfridge worst case you'll have to replace the cotton wool, beauty of the microcoil.

Omg! I mean ... OMG!! Dropped to 1.5 ohm with RYWhore and unicorn blood! Verrrrrry nice! No leakage either. Oh hark, I've impressed myself!

Now I know where the legs go, this should get better with practice Greg

@spikeyfridge, after reading the OP you've inspired me. I've just recoiled my first kanger head and given my AT mega a new lease of life. 8 turns of 29 guage round a 1.5mm allen key (Rose v2), CW wick with a CW 'flavour wick' over the top and it came out at 1.5ohms, same as yours. No leaks, no dry hits, it's hitting hard at 12watts with loads of headroom. It pops every time I fire it from cold, always a good sign.

The thing I was worried about was leakage. Damn I must just be lucky Off to get a lottery ticket
