With ref: to the 901 attys from eastmall, after much trial and error i found a cart that fits better than any others i have.
its a whistle tip with with the filler holder having a 1/4 part one side only for the vapor flow, ive only been using it for an hour but at least it fits, vapes quite well too

That's a proper 901 cart you've described there, that's why it fits a genuine DSE901 atomiser properly.
A lot of other carts on the market are actually RN4075 carts and sometimes don't fit 901 atomisers properly.

with these carts the wick doesnt press on the filler as much.
