Daughter in france, working but booked a long weekend in Amsterdam , travelling by megabus. On her way early this morning she dropped her phone down the loo Earlier on her phone still worked but wouldn't charge, it's now languishing in a bowl of uncooked rice, What are it's chances of recovery please ? The screen is ok now but still won't charge , she is having a good time but is fed up she can't take photos it makes it and recovers

Slim if she kept using it. If this ever happens best is to switch off immediately and leave it for minimum 48 hours somewhere warm before attempting to switch back on. But unfortunately it doesn't sounds like she did that!!

if it was working when she put it in a bowl of rice it should be fine but generally anything that gets wet get the battery out of it ASAP then remove all cards memory and sim and get it in rice as soon as possible and leave it there to do its work I have a 70 - 80% success rate myself
I have a spaghetti storage container 3/4 full solely for this purpose

Thanks jess most of the problem is she is away, however she does have travel insurance, arranged yesterday afternoon. To claim though you must take to repairer and get written proof and provide the receipt, so tomorrow's job is looking for receipt. Mostly though when she had her phone, I knew she was ok but now I don't

Has she got enough dosh on her to track down & buy a simple cheapy, until she can get the other one sorted, beautycat? As hopefully her sim has survived, so she'll at least be contactable.
