Right, been doing lots of reading, lots. Especially Griz's stuff on this forum, a few times. I have a few questions before I continue down the mixing route. 1. I'm using C9V Neat54 so if I have understood what I have read, the math goes like this; Amount Required ml / (Base PG Nic% / Target PG Nic%) so in my case it looks like this if I want a target of 24%; 10ml / (54 / 24) 2. The reason I ask is, I'm thinking of making 10ml then using that 2ml at a time to test flavour. The flavouring will dilute the target Nic mg correct? - Because this has no flavor added yet should I up the initial Target Amount of required Nic, e.g. from 24mg to 30mg to compensate for when I add drops of flavoring? (completely guessing at 30mg by the way).
- Or should I lower the initial PG amount?
I know this is covered in Griz's excellent GRIZWALD's GUIDE TO ALL THINGS MIXING under FLAVOURINGS AND PERCENTAGES but I felt if I spent the time writing it out I would better understand. Finally, 3. Is 2ml too small a quantity to test flavours, i.e.to really mix the flavour properly? Many thanks for reading this far. Andrew

I use www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php for mixing basic 1 flavour juices and in my opinion it works for any amount Edit: change the values on the upper panel and click on the lower panel for it to give the recommended drops to use

im not too sure what you are asking Andrew but i think you want to know how to mix a base liquid so that you can just add flavours to to get a juice of 24mg ? if thats the case you will have to guess what percentage of flavouring you will be adding... 10%, 20% or 30% and make the base liquid slightly stronger to accommodate the dilution of nic from the flavourings. so for 10% flavouring your base liquid will have to be 2.4mg stronger than 24mg therefore 26.4mg for 20% you'll need 28.8mg and 30% you'll need 31.2mg --------------------------------------------------------------- nic liquid you have / nic strength you have = ratio example for 20% flavouring 54 / 28.8 = ratio 1.875 1:1.875 so for every ml or drop of 54mg you will need to add 1.8 of non nic liquid --------------------------------------------------------------- so for you to get approx 10ml of 28.8mg liquid for you to mix in 20% flavouring i would take 4ml of 54mg and mix with 7.5ml of non nic liquidyou'll end up with 11.5ml but the quantities will be easier to measure out 2ml will be fine for testing you will then be adding around 0.4ml of flavourings for a 20% mix

Hi first dont get hung up with getting the nicotine content spot on you wont be able to tell the diffrence a few mg + or - so i would just make a 50-50 of un flavoured to start with. Start with 5ml of unflavoured PG 54mg strength. Then add of 3ml VG and 2ml PG ( another 5ml in total) This will result in 10ml of 70% PG 30% VG with a finished strength of 27mg. You need to know how strong your flavors are some (mainly the tobacco ones) you will only need 1 drop per 2ml bottle some you will need 8+ drops so best to start off with just 1 drop and work up.

Well put Gordy. However I prefer to use 3ml of base (nic/VG/PG) to add flavouring to as some flavourings are so strong that 2ml may not be enough.
Perhaps a simpler way of doing your 10 ml base would be to mix 50/50 (50% nic / 50% PG/VG) this would give you 27mg base for you to add your flavouring to.
