Lolli, the most common cause for any usb device failing is usually due to the wires inside the cord breaking.

Thats what happened to mine Chrissie. On a closer inspection,[and when I had my glasses on]I could see tiny broken wires on the end.I never pulled it by the wire to cause that. I had already been in touch with Simon at this point. Anyway he sent a replacement that I received today. I shall send the used one back tomorrow. Hows that for good cust serv. Only just plugged my new one in,so I`m sitting here a happy bunny again. Sue

Lolli, the most common cause for any usb device failing is usually due to the wires inside the cord breaking. It makes you wonder how long they're INTENDED to last ? When you think of the numerous devices we use everyday, with similar electrical cords, & IMHO, they rarely break ???

Had the same problem with a USB mouse or two (or 3 or 4) over the years.
I agree that is great customer service from Simon, he is one of the very good ones - never heard a bad word about him.

Oh ((((Chrissie)))) I didn't wonder about, or question, the suppliers one teeny bit - I meant the whole manufacturing thing! You know, disposable EVERYTHING eg - years ago you got your washing machine, fridge, etc etc REPAIRED. Now it all goes wrong so fast you just bin it all. Not meant to last.

Completely agree with you Lolli :* Got a sticky key board (have to hit the "G" about 20 times to et it to work) plus internet connection keeps dropping so it's taking me ages to post so crossed posts with you. It saddens me that so many thins are made to be thrown away after a very short time

Lol, Sue - it's the over-the-air internet you get from your router when you don't use a cable. Don't ask me anything else about it, please scylla

Aha!!! What have you been eating over your keyboard? Or... is there a furball stuck under the keys? You should be able to pop off the keys and blow or brush out any debris. With luck you won't break anything like wot I did with my netbook Z key (crisps was wot caused the blockage - bits fly off when I bite it's those Sainsbury's Taste the Difference, thicker and cracklier ). scylla

Seriously, I find it's all running away from me now, it's as if I'm full up and can't take in any more But I do know that keys can be popped off and popped back on again - useful when crumbs etc get trapped underneath. Some keyboards are even coffee-proof scylla
