Does it matter that I'm getting different readings for my coils from the omnitester and the VTR? Out of interest, the MVP and omnitester read the same but the VTR tend to be higher (and a little variable) it all still works but I'm curious why the readings might be different.

My VTR does this. I cleaned the threads and it reads correctly for a few days then goes out again.

Depends how different, if its small probably not a problem, sounds like the VTR connection is not as good as the others. If your atty is 1.50 ? it could read as either 1.5 ? or 1.6 ? with an accuracy of 0.01 ? due to rounding, so its normal to see the last digit be different sometimes.

Generally about .1-.3 difference although this morning it went wild reading 3.4;5.6;2.4 before settling down again. Maybe the contacts need a proper clean, don't have vodka or alcohol....did think about using gin but, well it seems a waste really and not sure the flavourings in gin would be cleaner than the contacts are! It does seem to settle down though and all the tanks work fine, so not too worried. Just loving the VTR, but am surprised the batteries I've got don't last for days n weeks just joking, but do need more batteries icon_shoppingm

sleedale clean ALL contacts with some ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL and also check the wiring in the head if you made it yourself, also try not to screw the head in to much as this can put stress on the wires (kanger heads). Well worth buying IA as it is very useful for cleaning all kinds of stuff vaping related.

Thank you Super-Shiny, I'll get some alcohol for cleaning and check the heads too. I did make them (thanks to your guide) and I still can't quite believe I can do that, but I might have been a tad enthusiastic.

Thought I'd revive this and add another question or two....sorry peeps but this VTR stuff is all new to me. I got some alcohol and have cleaned all the contacts on everything thoroughly, made new coils, tested them on the omnitester and mvp where they read the same, but on the VTR, for example, the naturevape tank I've just put on first read 2.3, then 2.1 and now 2.0 on the mvp it reads 1.8 (which is what it read when I made it) This happens with or without the airflow controller I got for the VTR to protect the threads. Now, I don't really care what the VTR says the atty is, but.....when it's set to 9watts will it make any difference to the power the thing puts through the atty? Probably a stupid question, as if it's set to 9 watts then that's what it should deliver, but I've noticed with the pt2 on the mvp set at 9watts and the VTR at 9 watts it tastes quite different, or is that just my brain playing dumb? Just out of interest, just put the pt2 back on.....MVP reads 1.4 VTR 1.7! edit, now reads 1.6 If I wait long enough..........

Sorry you are having probs sleedale, I had that a few times, but a clean usually sorted it okay, I think they overcomplicated things with the rotating atty thingy on it, is it okay now?

sorry in advance for this long winded technical reply but the VTR seems crap. Yes I think you're correct that if the VTR is reading the resistance higher then it will output more power in wattage mode than the other mods reading correctly.

Robby, don't worry, it does work, and often settles down to around the correct ohms, I just wasn't sure if the machine itself would somehow compensate for the wrong atty reading, and according to Mev, it probably does but it's fine, really. I haven't ever had anything like this, just the MVP which is a different beast altogether. no worries, love it really
