Hi all, I have decided to taking the plunge into mixing. I have had a read a lot on here and I have picked 6 recipes I like the sound of and ordered the concentrates needed from chefsvapours. I have ordered bottles, syringes, nic base and PG from everythingliquid and I picked up VG in boots yesterday, so I think I am all sorted. However, I have quite a few premade juices that range from rank to ok, so my question is, is it ok to mix premade juices and is it ok to add some concentrate to some of them to try and get something vapable out of them? I understand if I add concentrates it will weaken them so would top up with nic base, it just seems such a waste (of money ) to leave them in the cupboard if I could experiment and learn about mixing along the way with a bit of trial and error. I have my notebook ready to write down all that I do, as I would hate to create a belter and not have a clue how I made it Thanks Red

Yes and yes reddragon. . . it's how I kicked off my mixing obsession, adding Caramel to everything in an effort to jazz up some tasteless eliquids. The rest is history and a number of full cupboards. Start with a low percentage of extra flavouring then take it from there - Happy Creating! PS. If you're going down the combining route, then both these calculators have useful widgets: ecigvape.com/combine_calculator.phpejuice.breaktru.com/

Thanks Perpetua my first thought is to add vanilla to everything I will have a play before my supplies arrive (and I was doing so well, I hadn’t spent a penny on vaping since Sunday, until today. I am sure I will manage a week soon!!)

I think we've all got a ' kill or cure ' flavour reddragon . . . for others it's to Mentholate anything that doesn't hit the spot. Yours just happens to be Vanilla. I think I've done well if I manage 24hours without buying anything vaping related, so you're doing brilliantly.

Will be interested to hear how you get on, I too am in the position of having a box full of little bottles with premade in them and unfortunately just keep getting more. I know I should have an idea which to get by now but theres so many flavours and so little time Also unfortunately having so little money left and a serious case of shinyitis otherwise known as gottaget syndrome that soon I might be forced to go back to the tasteless and the rejects so keep us updated.

happy mixing - as Perpetua - be creative - but do it step by step - mixing is like cooking - go with your instincts - with what you think and like together

I was in the same situation when I started mixing and ended up wasting a fair amount of concentrate to try and turn complex rank juices into good ones. I had more success with simple or single flavoured juices such as adding a bit of apple to a blackberry or a bit of cinnamon to a banana/maple mix. The complex juices were more of a shot-in-the-dark exercise as it was hard to pick out the individual flavours and more often than not, one or two of them didn't go well with the added concentrate. It was a bit like testing multiple perfumes before buying, after a while your sense of smell is overwhelmed and you just can't tell the difference between them. I've put all my rank premade's to the back of the cupboard until such time as I have a greater repertoire of concentrate tasting notes. Some more curing might even do them some good. I'm still a beginner mixer as well so don't take this as hard facts. Just thought I'd share my experience of it.

OK, so you might have the odd recipe that fails, but when you really nail it, it's a fantastic sense of achievement

Well my first attempt Kentucky Amarretto Blend (I don’t like amarretto so god knows why I bought that!!) mixed with a very ’cheap cola’ tasting cherry cola and watermelon. Blew my head off but the watermelon was 2.4% but according to a linky above came out at just over 1.8%. I have diluted it further with some vanilla and we are getting somewhere. I am not really after creating amazing but just vapable to get the stocks of down. So far so good. The best thing about mixing pre made is no patience for steeping required just a good shake!
