Removing sticky labels

I peel the sticky label off carefully and the use the label itself to press into remaining adhesive and pull it off. Takes a few attempts but quite quick to do when you get the knack. If all else fails white spirit or soapy water. There are basically two types of self adhesive, water based acrylic and silicon based. Silicon based is used when adhesive has to be water proof. Silicon based needs white spirit to remove.

If you warm the bottle 1st ( just hold in your hand is enough) it make it easier to get label off without leaving residue.

If I want to reuse bottles I just cover the existing labels with white insulation tape and write the new contents with a marker. No faff takes seconds.

A quick google brings up Halfords, Tesco, B&Q, Lakeland, Amazon, Homebase and John Lewis, amongst others... no need to leave the sofa sleedale

I use Pro-Power Label Remover for removing my hard-to-budge labels sleedale , just spray a little to the adhesive and leave for a few minutes then rub off with a cloth or kitchen towel, then wash after. Has a nice citrus scent too.

My Mother presented me with a bottle of this many years ago - it actually works amazingly and will last me forever I think! Has worked on everything I've needed to use it on, just let it soak in for 10 seconds or so and the jobs a good 'un. It does need a lot of rinsing/washing with hot soapy water afterwards though.

P.s - be careful as even a couple of spilt drops will turn the floor into an ice rink - I learned this lesson in style, much to my humiliation

Oooh I didn't know there was something specifically designed to get labels off the bottles till now

Just put one of these in my Amazon wish list till I can find somebody to order it to so they can bring it over to me. 100ml should last quite a long time I hope

Now who the hell is coming over to Tenerife soon    or have I got to wait till flippin New Years Eve, when I know some friends are coming over
