Not sure if this fits here, but how do folks remove the gunk left from labels on juice bottles? I like to stick a label on my mixes, but the labels I'm using don't always peel off properly leaving a sticky gunk. I've used WD40 on other things but don't really want to use it on juice bottles because of the strong smell. Any ideas peeps please?
thank you

If there's still a residue left after a good soaking, I use a little white spirit . . . not a non smelly option, but the whiff does go quite quickly sleedale. The semi opaque, squishy bottles don't seem to hang onto gunk quite so much as the clear ones I've found. Or option two - buy bigger labels.

Thank you Perpetua I'll try the white spirit. I did try the alcohol (cleaning type not drinking type) but it didn't make any difference! As for bigger labels....I'd end up with more label than bottle. Maybe everythingliquid could come up with either labels that peel off properly, or labels that we can reuse.....a write on wipe off type? Now there's an idea, reusable labels.....off to google I go

Thanks Ripshod It has always worked for me, I peel the paper off and soak the residue with a few drips of IPA for 5 mins then rub it off with pater towel and IPA. You can soak in water over night to get the paper to separate from the glue.

In regards to the write on wipe off you may be best served with a gloss vinyl combined with a felt tipped pen? Only issue being that rubbing the ink would cause smudges so would have to be extra cautious. Will have a word with production and see if there is something we can rustle up

I actually write straight on the bottle with a Sharpie. Comes straight off with a tickle from a pad. I think any felt tip would work the same, so long as it's not a whiteboard marker (will come off on your fingers) nor a permanent marker (er).

Mmmmmm, ok, just tried again..... 4 bottles, all peeled and washed, all with remaining gunk. Isopropyl alcohol cleaned tow of them, no problem, once I used it properly! Didn't touch the other two......WD40 sprayed onto a cloth perfectly cleaned one of them, mostly cleaned the other! I'm confused but finally have 4 clean bottles (almost)

If I want to make sure the marker won't rub off I put a bit of Scotch Magic Tape over it.

Sticky Stuff Remover from Lakeland has worked every time for me. A bottle last me a couple of years.
