I thought I'd warn people about this email I've just recieved supposedly off PayPal just incase anyone gets it as the link it takes you to looks very very genuine and I'm sure some unsuspecting people will fall for it, It takes you to a fake but very genuine PayPal login page (I just made up a name and password to check its authenticity) and then takes you to a page that asks you for all your PayPal details, I wouldn't want any people falling for this and ruining there Xmas, Just noticed they could at least spell the email address properly it's for account.riview@paypal.co.uk

I hate these scam things , rule of thumb is if you ever get an email from paypal or a bank with a similar issue , go to there website and log in rather than using the link in the email , that way if there's a problem I'm sure they will notify you as soon as you log in Good job raising awareness tho buddy

It's getting to be a real pain with all these scams. I never click any links in emails these days.
Thanks for the heads up Curtis.

Paypal & your banks will always address you by your name & never Dear "......." customer. But even if the email is addressed to you, it's still best to do what Stitch says, go to their known website & not via the link given in the email.

On a serious note, NEVER click on any link from an e-mail, even if you know who sent it because their account may have been scammed. ALWAYS copy and paste the link into your browser and see where the url is really going to take you (where it says click here- if you right click and select copy then the full url will be copied). Or as was said above, if it's an account of some description then go to the site and log on to deal with whatever. If you use Firefox then make sure you use it's web of trust (WOT) because that will alert you to anything dodgy before it opens the page.

thanks for the warning, ive had the one from Halifax never had an account with them. My mum had £700 taken out of her account with a scam similar to this, took ages to get it back and i agree copy and paste rather than click and I have done in the past! Talking of scam emails I got one the other day asking if id like a bigger penis, i know smoking has made me sound a bit Rod Stewart but thats well out of order

That's the thing that worries me about these scam emails, my mums not old (well she is pretty old at 46) and she's far from dim she's a teacher but I know that If recieved this email without me warning her she would more than likely click the link and fill in the scam form,
