Wasn't sure where to put this, Yesterday I had over 300 emails and as many again in my spam folder.( Totally unusal ) Most of the emails in my inbox appeared to be spam so one by one I deleted them without opening.
There were 3 from joose juice, I have not ordered so figured it was a newsletter. I opened one and there was a link, I stupidly clicked on it and it took me to a foreign website, I checked my mail and it definitely appeared to be from joose, obviously it wasn't.
Now this could be totally unrelated but I then immediately came on the forum, all appeared well at first, but then I found that I would be replying to a thread, and as I pressed post the forum jumped back to the previous post I had been writing and my reply posted there instead. It also happened to 2 pms that I know of, I pressed send and the page went to the thread I had been reading previously and my pm posted on that thread.
I logged out then back in, and the forum just kept changing pages without me touching anything. I thought the site had gone mad, so logged out.
The oh went on a football website, and exactly the same thing happened to him, as he put it , things kept changing right infront of his eyes.
I shut the pc down, and restarted only it would not restart, it said something had been changed.
I started in safe mode, turned off and it wouldn't start again. I ran a virus checker and one item was quarantined.
I turned it on this morning and it wouldn't start again, so did a system restore.
As I say the two things may not be related , but a heads up regarding joose juice emails as the site it took me to was definitely nothing to do with them.
I am now going to do a complete sweep of everything .

Had a post from an email phisher the other week claiming to be from the email provider I use, easy enough for them to find out as it's part of the URL that your outgoing emails consist of e.g. joebloggs@mailme.com will be in the 'mailme.com' domain. If they identify it the scammer will send you an email claiming to be from the email provider, with some old tripe about 'You have uncollected messages' or 'You need to update your personal details' with a link that of course, goes off to one of their websites which farm details about your email account. I actually got caught by one several weeks ago and immediately went to the REAL email account provider and changed my password. A couple of weeks later the scammers tried and failed to access it. Watch out! Those feckers are after your dosh.
Edit : the way to identify the fake ones is to mouseover the link that they're directing you to, if it isn't the domain of the email provider, it's a scam. There are several they use like o SpACE w s PacE l y dot komCnotK that are being criticised heavily at the moment because they allow these shitheads to create shortcuts to their sites without any sort of scam prevention

Got one yesterday from a company I used to do business with ages ago. Managed to spot it as dodgy straight away - was sent to the wrong email. sammy13's situation makes me wonder if anyone has actually sold a database to that fleabay scammer??

I think I have finally got it sorted, ran the virus checker, then took off everything I could safely manually, then ran crap cleaner, then disk cleanup, disk defrag, then shutdown.
Turned on and it started so that was good, I then ran antivirus again, did updates, and turned it off.
Turned on and it started, but my internet now will not stay connected, could be a sky thing or could be something not sky lol.
If it carries on I will disconnect the box remove it if I can from the system, and reconnect and set up.
I thought my pc had had it, the internet going mad and changing pages like a book all on its own, then even more alarmingly refusing to start up, three times except in safe mode, I really thought some big damage had been done.

for me anything at all unusual and I run it I swear by it I was formatting my computer every 6 weeks before I downloaded it and ever since I haven't needed to format it I think this is more important than a antivirus checker and I wouldn't run a computer without any of them

I agree ronaldo & the reason I linked to Cnet to download it from is due to the many false sites kicking around.

Thankyou,
I run it and it found 28 problems.
I had had pups, and been hijacked
Seriously though, I don't know what that exactly means but glad that they are gone

Or do use it as and when you need. I run anti virus software ie Avast. So can I install that at the same time? Cheers
