Modifying the Rose v2 clone

As most will prob agree the rose is a great tank but its biggest bug bear is coiling it. It can be a tricky operation trying to get the coil legs in those tiny holes.
Well today i have had a go at enlarging the holes and then putting a countersink on them. This i hope will allow the coil legs to locate a lot easier rather than getting bent and trapped under the ceramic cup if they are not dead straight. 
Having spent most of the day setting up a new pc cos my old one died ive not had a chance to try the modifications,  but i will later this evening.
I will let you guys know whether i have improved things or just knackered one of my roses.

I done my rose mucker and its a doddle, took the pos pin out and used the drem and diamond bit to countersink that tiny hole, also done the same on the deck,works a treat.

Yes it works great, needs a good wash out after, the pos pin is very close to the deck any swarf could cause a short, i have 2 cups pre built and changing them now is a doddle.

I did toy with the idea of drilling the negative hole right the way through to the plastic in the base and the positive down to the screw in the base so you can use longer legs.
Might give that a go next.

Not to sure about that, might cause leaks..maybe ?

Might do but then juice seems to get past the positive post into the base anyway.
In theory if you've got enough wick in it shouldn't leak.

You cant drill down into the pos post because of the screw that connects the plastic base to the base.if you get my drift...edit yea you might gain a mil or so

Hmm think i might do a bit of measuring to see how much of a gain it would be.

Sorry ZD i dont have a camera good enough but will try with webcam tomor when its lighter to give you a general ideal, it took me about 10 mins to do, it really is that easy.

I suspect you won't like this but its putting a cup into a hole with two wires into another two holes. I have just cleaned, coiled and wicked two roses and it has taken about 15 minutes in total. That includes a 5 minute ultra sonic bath.

I think you need to take into account that many people suffer from many things that many doing fiddly things much harder than it would someone else. Ie fat fingers, poor eyesight, arthritis, shakey hands etc etc, or in my case poor eyesight and a missing index finger so anything that makes something easier for everyone is a good thing, no ???
