I suspect you won't like this but its putting a cup into a hole with two wires into another two holes. I have just cleaned, coiled and wicked two roses and it has taken about 15 minutes in total. That includes a 5 minute ultra sonic bath. I think you need to take into account that many people suffer from many things that many doing fiddly things much harder than it would someone else. Ie fat fingers, poor eyesight, arthritis, shakey hands etc etc, or in my case poor eyesight and a missing index finger so anything that makes something easier for everyone is a good thing, no ??? My wife suffers from multiple sclerosis so I don't need someone telling me about dexterity problems. The comment was not meant to offend but most people on this thread do not have any of the issues you mention.

Quite right sir.. i suffer from Age-related macular degeneration (bleeding at the back of the eye) years ago you would of gone blind but now if its caught in time your sight can be saved via a course of injections directly into the affected eye, i have had it in both eyes, glad to say i only needed 3 injections in each eye but once you have had a bleed there is a certain amount of scaring which does affect your vision, yea its a pain but i look around at young kids far worst off than anything i have had and think how lucky i am.

Only stating that some people dont find putting two wires in a hole as easy as you, and i wasnt telling you anything. Perhaps i should have started my comment with i know you wont like this.

I fancy trying mine again after reading your posts.Do you just countersink the holes.Do you take the pos.pin out first to protect the same?

after drilling the holes it still managed to get one leg skewiff, which is an improvement so thanks for the idea. remove the screws that hold the legs in place, that way the legs can be seen going into the holes and you can tighten up knowing that the damm legs are where they ought to be. in short its still a faff, however its coiled now.
sausage fingers and getting older eyes, £1 glasses and a pair of tweezers from FT leave me nothing left to complain about. If MS was the issue . . . sorry to hear that mrs macmagoo. . .good luck to ya.

I took the pin out Ron,held it in some pliers and countersunk the pin, then done the same to the neg on the deck, we are not talking loads here, just a small amount on both makes it a lot easier for a old fart like me.

Well drilled both the negative and the positive holes out with a slighty larger drill. I cant tell you the size till monday as i left it at work, sorry. I didn't bother drilling the positive hole in the base itself as thats already larger than the hole in the positive pin. I then used a much larger drill to countersink both holes as i couldn't find a countersink bit small enough to do the job. I did a build on it tonight and it was so much easier, the legs just dropped in.

I cant believe there are so many Roses sitting in drawers!!! if anyone wants to pass their (unmodified) one on I will pay good money. Yes they are a faff but worth it, just for the extra taste you get. (and I have old eyes too, and I struggled to coil mine at first)
