I have noticed that when using batteries in my Dicodes Dani that the battery life is not as expected. For example, I changed my battery at around 10pm last night to an 18650 running a 2ohm coil at 9 watts. The battery ran down to 3.2 under load by 11.30am this morning. Now yes, I do chain vape a bit but was sleeping for 9 of those hours with literally two pulls when on baby night shift ad it just seems that my batteries are no where near lasting any length of time. In my zmax's the 18650 last me around maybe 10 awake hours! Any ideas, I also thought they would last a little longer as I have my battery cut off set to 3.2 volts output which is a little lower than my other mods

How old is the battery? Have you tried any others in it? Sounds like it's on its way out. It will still show 4.2V off the charger but if it's dropping that low under load then it's about to die. I would try another battery, one that you know is newish and see what happens?

Hi jacquif I probably didn't explain it well in my rambling lol it is happening with all of my batts. I have 4 18650's. 2 of them are 6 months old and 2 of them I got two weeks ago and both sets are behaving the same in the mod

I did a lot of research about the time you got yours Mrsmac (I got a Provari instead), and there was no mention of poor battery life in the reams of forum pages/reviews I read. A decent battery with a 2ohm coil at 9 watts should be lasting you much longer than that. I think you need to get it checked out. Only joshing about the Provari

Hmm the mystery depends. I am thinking it may have something to do with the the set battery function or the automatic shut off

It sounds like it may be using too much power when not firing, if you have a volt metre right down the battery voltage after your last vape of the day, put the battery in and turn the dani on and then test the battery before your first vape the next day. It may be an idea to do this once with an atty connected and once without, this should be different measuring the resistance a lot. I can leave a battery in a DNA with a kayfun on it for at least a week, probably several weeks without problem.

VapingBad that sounds like a good plan.i shall write down both values because it displays battery voltage as well add under load for example right now battery is showing 3.4v. I an also wondering if it is because it is set to 3.2v shut down or if it's because I am using red efest batteries. Over on another board the user's have theirs set as low as 2.5

I think you could be right about the set battery voltage Mrsmac Item 7 in the manual Deep Discharge Protection and Power Limitation explains it. I reckon if you check the voltage left in a battery (not under load) you'll find it still has plenty left, it's just cutting the power to early because 3.2v under load is to high Try 2.6 - 2.9v as the example in the manual.

@scooby, I have just had a read of point 7 and sort of understand. The set battery refers to the point at which it will step down the output power of the battery to 7.5watts I believe. I have put mine down to 3 whc is the default to see what I pact that may have. I guess I am just concerned that I over discharge my batteries or go to a level that is not safe for these batteries. I also read that the lowest these batteries can safely discharge to is 2.5v and I definately don't want to do that! Fingers crossed I get it to work

You're right to be concerned Mrsmac but I believe the 2.5 -2.7v safe discharge is under load. I'm sure they wouldn't design a mod that was user adjustable to a point it was unsafe, or that could irreversibly damaged a battery.

Sounds like someone has sold you a bloody dodgy charger hehe, only joking Are they new batteries or the same ones you have been using and getting decent usage out of?

Indeed @scooby, I seem to be having some sort of vapers block right now lol Marcus Ithe charger was for MrMac so he can stop nicking mines Tease-smiley two of the 18650's are 6 months old and the other two are two weeks old, I am definately going to watch the over night standby and see what that does as I feel it is all related. Also read that aw batteries are the best for this mod Why oh why don't I just learn to use mechs cause this is getting expensive and annoying

A £20 mech and a couple of Samsung 2600mah batteries.. Swap them out every couple of hours if chain vaping and there's nothing else to learn Or if you like the safety features and being able to adjust power, stick a "kick" or a "crown" in it and you have a regulated mod
