Marcus I have a couple here but love the "simplicity" of set and forget maybe next week. I've spent far too much on this and need to get it right there wise MrMac will

Thanks for the tag @scooby. Ok Mrsmac, let's get you sorted. First things first, download the Instruction manual. You can find it HEREIt may well be worth printing it off for future reference.. Something definitely isn't right, so let's go through all of the relevant settings of the Dani and see if we can figure out what's going on by going through the most likely issues. SB. (Set battery - Main menu) A lot of batteries don't offer their full capacity if you're only discharging to 3.2v. There was a big hoohaa about the Panasonic NCR18650B a while ago. It's a battery that was VERY popular with vapers because of it's 3400mah rating.. Problem is, it only offers ~2000mah down to 3.2v. The last 1400mah only become available if you use it down to 2.75v. They soon lost their popularity! Most VV/VW mods cut at 3.2v under load as here's no telling what battery someone may put into their vamo etc.. It keeps it safe for everyone (especially those that don't know or understand the limits of their battery) Speaking of limits, most ICR and NCR cells won't tolerate a sub 3v discharge, most IMR cells however, will. The Dani is designed for you to take full advantage of what you have and so allows you to use the cell's full capacity. Obviously you're expected you to know the safe limits by researching their inherent specifications though. Knowing your red Efest 18650s can be discharged to 2.5v, I'd set it to 2.6v and forget about it. It won't cause any damage to the cell and certainly isn't dangerous. You will find runtime to be greatly improved. As i said before, this is 2.6v under load, not resting. It's likely that resting voltage will be around 3.2-3.4v. I use red Efest 18490 cells with SB set to 2.6v with no issues. My go to setup with the Kayfun sat on the dani is a twisted & parallel 3mm microcoil reading 0.7ohms which I fire at 14.5w. This coil will use a lot more power than your 2 ohm coil will, even at 20w. LU (Luminosity - EF menu)What setting are you using? It goes without saying that the brighter the display, the more the battery will discharge if you're always using the menu. Default setting is 4 but I use 2. Plenty bright enough to see the menu if/when I need to. ST (Switch off time - EF menu) What is this set to? Default is 60 minutes. I have mine set to 5 minutes. This will switch the dani off after 5 minutes of not being used and therefore not drain the battery.. If you have this set to 90 minutes (the maximum allowed), and you have a quick vape every fews hours it would go a long way towards explaining why your battery is not lasting as long as it should. Whilst in standby it is draining your battery at 22 milliamps per hour. Putting it simply, every 90 minutes it's sat in standby, it's using 33mah just to stay "awake". Your 2000mah batteries aren't going to last ages if you have a vape, put it down for 90 minutes, have another vape, put it down again, so-on and so-forth. Quite how it works out how long it's been left unused is beyond me, but it's surprisingly accurate! SO (Switch off - Main menu)Do you ever actually switch it off? Or do you just leave it in standby? This goes hand in hand with the ST setting, if you leave it on standby, it stands to reason that the battery will be discharged. Even if only for a few minutes until it switches itself off. Handy as it may be to just pick it up and have a vape, either properly using the ST setting and/or switching it off when you put it down will greatly improve the time between charges.. I find it interesting that there's a lot of negativity towards the Dani in favour of the Provari. Very annoying to read unfounded approvals... Let me tell you from personal experience, the Dani blows the Provari (pre P3) out of the water when you know how to use it. I personally hated my Provari 2.5 and sold it within 24 hours of it arriving to get a second Dani. Hope that helps you out Mrsmac, if you have any more queries, feel free to fire me a PM

Hi there Dan *waving*thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response. I think from a process of elimination from the above there are several reasons why this may be happening with mine. Unfortunately, my pocket wouldnt allow the extra for the extreme and i think there begins some of the problem! I cannot change the brightness and cannot change the standby time as the basic does not have these functions. The inability to not change the standby time, i believe is the heart of my problem. As i am at home most of the days all the time, I constantly vape. In practice this probably means 2-3 pulls every 10-15 minutes. The vape is never really far from my mouth and with the standby time fixed at 50 minutes, I can imagine the poor timer trying to reset the 50 minutes each time thus using up power of the battery on standby and timer functions. So i assume then that only resolution i would have would be to switch it off between vapes or up my nic levels so i dont vape so much. Upping levels is not an option as i am at the level i am as i love the flavour and vape in the kayfun. Which then means I will try dropping the SB function lower and try turning it off more, i will also turn it off when i got to bed. I only had it on incase i have a rough night with bubba but i am sure it will become second nature. Wish i had gotten the extreme now for a few more pounds lol And so much Dan for such an informative reply, from your post I can almost figure out the manual now lol

Can seem a very daunting device to begin with so I'm happy to help I was under the impression that the only upgrades from basic to extreme were upping the wattage and also introducing half watt increments.. obviously I was wrong! Ok, so turning it off is your only option really.. unless you fancy sending it to dicodes to be upgraded? Greek mods did this for £15 for people that purchased the basic model but it will be gone about a week.. cheaper option of getting the extreme functions.. I'm not 100% sure who you'd need to contact though..? You are positive that you don't have the ability to change the switch off time? Never played with the basic so don't know myself..

Dan, i believe not I'm afraid, i almost wish i could exchange it for one now. my menu options go pu, pd, co, cb, sb, so and then f. Oh well live and learn, still happy i got mine though. It looks great with the 'kayfun' and in 18500 with extender is still smaller than my zmax in 18350 mode! Will try the lower setting on the sb and see how that goes....doesnt help that the darn 'kayfun' is playing up as well...can always tell when i'm having a challenging vape week, plus i've nearly done 72 hours without a stinky so may have finally let go of the one a day...hence my anxiety

I'm very happy with the Provari and I don't like the look of the Dani at all, just personal taste Dan. i certainly wasn't slagging it though as I've never tried one and won't be for the reason above. lets just call it a little in joke between mrsmac and I

I was tempted by the extender myself but its a lot of money for something I don't really need! congratulations! Tis a great feeling!!! I have off days with rebuildables.. thats why I have backups lol

I am trying to avoid any more New stuff until I can get the hang of what I have lol but I admit I was looking on the rose an I love the form factor. Figured out that if I tighten up the airflow until I'm sucking straws on the kayfun it wicks good leading me to believe that it may be a Chanel problem as my juice is 70/30 pg but I'm scared to deface my last remaining one as the spare was given to MrMac insert head small smiley lol

Wicking correctly is essential with the kayfun. Makes a world of difference. . I can have mine wide open and wick with 50/50 juices beautifully. Biggest bugbear with them is that you need to fill it just right to get the pressures working correctly.. get it wrong and it'll either leak profusely or give constant dry hits..

Needs 17.5w to work properly. im going to try the same build with 0.20 this evening in another rose to see if I can find a 15w friendly build. Also going to try the same build with twisted 0.15. I love experimenting.. does it show lol
