vaping spectacles ?????

ive recently had a new eye test and the glasses ive bought have quite a large lens.
i got 2 pairs one for reading and one for the laptop these being a bit weaker.
i used to use an old pair for the laptop occasionally but im trying to where these new ones as often as possible.
the problem is i cant keep the things clean, they seem to get a film on them very quickly.
im wondering if its the vapour.
anyone else get this problem.
when i clean them with the cloth that came with them it just seems to smear albeit very feint.
i have to literally have to use hot water and a mild soap before there properly clean.
any advise peeps.

yes i think so, when i used the old ones im a lot rougher when cleaning them with the cleaning cloth.
the old ones are solid frames with no nose piece so there easier to clean without worrying about snapping the nose bits.
i got these large lens ones because seeing a frame when reading or using the pc i find aggravating.

nowt to do do with vaping raggy , I'm a spex wearer and I use 3 different levels of lens .. not varifocals either 3 different pairs ( damned annoying ) gotta say I had no probs with filming on any of them

you could always test by vaping directly onto both pairs to see ?

i was also thinking that, other than the anti scratch coat i dont know.
ive looked around the web but didnt find anything.
im not that happy with the laptop ones as they also pick up a reflection.
if im looking straight at the tv there is a window forward of where im sat and to my right (so no part is behind me) yet i still see a slight reflection of the window, the further i move the glasses forward on my nose the bigger the window reflection becomes.
all this may be just one of those issues you get with wearing glasses i suppose.
i tried 2 older pairs and it does do the same but it is very very feint, whereas with these new ones it very aggravating, so much so ive got them on a neck thingy and there on and off like crazy.
its driving me up the wall and then the smears just to top it off.

It could be the anti-scratch coating Raggy, attracting a film . . . I never have that put on my specs as the plastics used thesedays are pretty resilient . . . although if they're liable to get coated in dust through work, I can see why it would be needed.

You can have an anti-reflection coating put on them . . . my Dad used to be an Optician.

I have to go back to specsavers with a dodgy pair they sold me , wrong prescription in my free pair .. doh . you never know raggy , I have an anti glare film on my pc glasses which I must admit is the mutts compared to my last pair

they (specsavers) never offered any coatings but it seems they are all pre treated with anti scratch.
ive never worn glasses to this extent and maybe it is just one of the perks >
i will go back to them after xmas, i just know there going to want to flog me something.
to be honest its almost like there not fit for purpose but i dont really want to go there.

I didn't know that about the anti-scratch Raggy . . . but the anti reflection is well worth the few pounds it costs, under a tenner I think I paid . . . makes a heck of a difference as well, especially with the time we all spend at a PC screen nowadays.

Hi Raggy, Not sure if this will help but.. I had a similar problem with reflections I also experienced some blurring at the edge of my periphery. My lenses were quite curved in design and they were also made thinner at my request. This combination worked fine with my old prescription. However with the new, more powerful prescription the thinned lens material struggled to cope and refracted some of the light. The problem was resolved by reverting to the standard thickness lens.

Hope it's solved quickly, I know what a pain it can be.
