Your replies make an interesting read, I didn't realise there were so many on the market. To my way of thinking 0.018 accuracy is total nonsense, the reading will vary with room temperature! Hell, it's only a vaping coil, 0.1 is accurate enough. In the end I bought a mid price one off ebay (£12.99) the £40-50 ones must be gold plated. Will let you know if it's any good.

Accuracy matters when you are playing with subohm/micro ohm vaping. A 0.1ohm difference could be enough that you push a battery too far and it ends up venting in your hand... That's why there are accurate meters.

Definitely worth purchasing the thing that you need individually. No point buying an hyper accurate one for building 1.5 ohm coils all day. Same to be said with buying one for pennies from china to build 0.15 coils going on a mech. Horses for courses... ohm meters for vapers...

Indeed, personally I never push a battery so a misreading would end up in a vent but I know people who do.. Running 0.06 and silly micro ohms. The ones from America I Linked to are the most expensive I've seen for vapers (510 connection) all the other ones £100+ are for electricians ideally

Sorry Marcus, but I don't quite see it your way! By sub ohm I'm assuming you mean a resistance of less than unity. Here I agree that as you approach 0 ohms the current approaches infinity (ignoring the internal resistance), under these conditions the time the button is depressed is more critical than the 0.1 ohm discrepancy. As I am only interested in c. 2 ohms, the 0.1 is acceptable.

Im afraid it's not to do with time the button is depressed at all. If you are pulling 61A when your batt is rated for 60A pulse then regardless on how long the button is pressed you are risking venting your battery.
And anything below 1ohm is "sub"

60A is a colossal heating effect, I'm not in your league, no wonder you talk about hand held bombs!

OMG! Think I'll stick to my "Protank". with a name like jevans you could be a world champion cloud chaser!! Stick with what works! For some its kicking the stinks, for some its a bit of a hobby too, for some its a zen like passion, chasing the biggest, tastiest, craziest clouds around.

I've got this one coming from Focal, paid £5.59 while it was on promotion, I've got a couple of Flukes but cant be bothered to get them out of my toolcase just to check a coil.

60A is a colossal heating effect, I'm not in your league, no wonder you talk about hand held bombs! I would just like to point out I have never pulled 60A from a battery and never would. Thr supposedly pulse limited on a VTC5 is 60A with 30A being the continuous limit. I enjoy chasing clouds, in the comfort of my own home but I'm also a flavour junkie To each their own though, and whatever keeps you off the stinkies

Be handy in a power cut, just stick a 30watt bulb on the end
