Help for Evansthesteam

This thread is started to help jevans get to grips with the forum mechanics, especially tagging members. If anyone else would like to get involved, please make sure you tag Evansthesteam too so that he doesn't feel left out!

jevans - here's what you typed - can't understand why you're not getting notifications though

Turn them on in profile settings!!

Haha @spikeyfridge - just been into settings too!! jevans - go to Profile (top menu bar), then go to Edit Profile on top right, then the Notifications last item on menu bar, and make sure all the notifications you want are ticked under the 'Forum' column. If you want email notifications too, click in that column too.

Hi jevans... It highlights you (with a little balloon on the menu) when somebody has either liked, tagged or quoted you in a thread.

Usually, in my case, it's a chance to defend myself when a thread has got out of hand!

jevans - as Raffles said above, it alerts you to your name in someone else's post, so that you can click the notification link and see why you have been mentioned
