mouth ulcers and bad heartburn?

and the heartburn is awful noticing it more with PG juices, I already take a PPI-omeprazole, seems a little better today and the ulcer is starting to shrink!

I'm ok as long as I take the omeprazole as soon as I get up

What are omeprazole? Are they prescription or over the counter?

omeprazole is a prescription medication. Its a PPI or proton pump inhibitator, works by basically blocking some of the glands in the stomach from producing acid. Its a really good drug for those with chronic acid!

Well the ulcer is on its way out and ive worked out menthol juices give me heartburn. My daughters just started on e cigs and she finds the sweet ones give her heartburn, which is a good job as id go bonkers if she vaped all my sweetie stuff! were a bit like Jack Sprat and his wife really!

I think I got the mouth ulcer as I use a drip tip and hold it well in my mouth, so i swapped sides and a bit of bongella and its nearly gone, but it was a big bugger!

I came off the omeprazole (cos I'm vaping/drinking less coffee so the doc thought he'd try me off it) and xmas day I spent the pm on the loo throwing up (okay so I'd just flooded my carto but still)....did that to a lesser extent for a couple of days...

Now I'm home have had mega bad heartburn (constant) and now have nausea...

Of course you can't get hold of any medics today or tomorrow (I'm in Scotland)...

So I have slippery elm I'm going to take religiously and also try a tbsp of cider vinegar with a tsp of honey (for taste) in warm water in a glass and see if that helps...

I have no better ideas till about thursday but I personally think I need to be back on the omeprazole...

oh dear omeprazole is a bugger to come off quickly, ive seen many patients in agony coming off quick. It will get better once youve adjusted but ouch acid is horrible. Let me know how your alternative works. I am not sure if my omeprazole is working, acid is killing me! id have thought smoking made acid worse!

I missed this, god i admire you. I know they say things happen for a reason but kudos to you for being so positive. sorry you went through this but glad you met the love of your life and had your lad.

Back on omeprazole.....Was only on 20mg once a day.
