If you want to drop me a pm I can post you a bottle of vanillin (creamy flavour) and ethyl maltol (sweetener) Both I bought as crystals and there's a massive amount in each packet so have some bottles I mixed up from them. Happy to send on, as I've more than enough for my needs actually, that also applies to anyone who fancies some vanillin and ethyl maltol jsut message and request

I can give you a few pounds via PayPal for p+p if you want. :-) Is the sweetener always a certain base as well? So I'll have to take that into account when using the online calculator? ;-)

Its fine, no postage needed as I have both in crystal form so I can pop both (labelled) into a small zippy bag inside an envelope (at normal 1st class postage stamp) So then you can add a fifth into a 10ml bottle, add pg or vg and shake a lot - either nuke in a microwave for a few seconds or put bottle in bowl of hot water to get it to dissolve. message me your address via pm and i'll post on to you

all flavours are assumed to be suspended in pg. and sweetener is only normally added at 1-3% so it wont really affect your recipe

Glass bottles will inhibit steeping opensecret . . . they're great for long term storage where you want to prevent any degradation, but will increase the infusing time considerably. Which if you don't have much patience for some of the blends that take a time to steep, they won't be the best option for you.

I'm looking at mixing 40/60 PG/VG, maybe even 30/70 PG/VG. Would the viscosity of the liquid be a problem with the needle tips?

Shouldn't be opensecret but you can always dilute your vg with up to 10% distilled water. You need to be able to fill your tanks with your mix. I mix at 60/40 pg/vg so don't bother diluting.

I was looking at maybe getting some concentrates from chefs vapour but they don't actually state the % for some of them. Tastes vary so widely that's part of it opensecret . . . on the whole I mix at an overall percentage of 20% as that generally suits me. But that's not a hard & fast, some I do at less - and some more. Be prepared for a little experimentation, disappointment and success - that's part of the DIY fun. All my mixes are VG heavy and I've no problems with needle tips on bottles . . . .

My experience with 0 nic mixes is that you can almost double suggested steeping times. I've no idea why.

My experience with 0 nic mixes is that you can almost double suggested steeping times. I've no idea why. It's just my simple, unscientific theory, but my thinking is the nicotine content helps accelerate the process and the higher it is, then the faster it will be. These were all mixed on the same day, using exactly the same flavours and ratios - yet the colour difference is quite noticeable between a high, medium & low strength.
