Thanks csmith10 you're very probably spot on there, although I prefer cw really........it tried hard to fry my wick but I turned it down, switched w to v and back again and it behaved for the rest of the evening and so far is good. Custard certainly gunks the coils and wicks very quickly, the fruit flavours not so much, and it's mostly custard cw wicks that suffer badly. jaysey glad yours is behaving now.....tried the iPhone plug yet? I did briefly this morning and nothing got hot but I didn't charge it empty to full just topped it up so I could take it with me......cycling lal good news? We need to hear it Just put it on charge for an hour and half .. Almost full but the plug did get very hot !! Think il stick to work PC for charging !

I used my iPhone plug, the one that says 1A (the one for the iPhone 5) and charged from 1 bar on the iStick display to full, took about 31/2-4 hours, so I don't think it's any different to using the plug that came with it, but I'll test that one next time. No problems using it though, it didn't get hot. I also turned the iStick off before charging, something I don't usually bother doing.

Delivers 5v per port (usb standard) but the istick should only pull the amps needed. I was under the impression that plugging a device into a charger that can't deliver enough current is the worst thing to do rather than the other way round. Correct me if i'm wrong!

If a fault develops it may mean it is drawing more current from the USB power supply. It is fine until the Istick goes faulty which could mean it will draw more current and I would rather have it limited to one amp than two and a half amps, could be the difference between a smoky smell and a fire lemental_ The istick has a recommended max of 1 amp charging.

Got you. Makes sense that. So if the charging circuitry in the istick fails and too much current gets pulled, Houston we have a problem! Thanks robby

Picked up 2 isticks today, a silver one for me and a red/pink for the wife. Gotta say i'm very impressed at these overpowered little buggers. My Mow tank wouldn't fire using the ego connector supplied with the istick which peeved me a bit so i switched to one i got from nature vape and the Mow tank works great now. The base on the nature vape ego connector is smaller than the supplied one and allows the Mow to screw all the way down to the istick instead of sitting on top of base like the supplied one does.

robby lemental . You got me worried and I wanted to check. It is designed to vary dependent on the device attached I had a look on their web site and in the FAQs it states "4. My device charges at 1 amp, will this charger’s 8 amp output harm it?" No, the charger will only supply the maximum charge current allowed by your device up to 2.4 amps It is overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating or short circuit regulated, it also UL certified (ul.com) I would certainly trust it more than the chargers you get thrown in with most batteries. I have used it for iPhones, iPads, Samsung Phones, Sony Phones, EVOD batteries, Innokin MVP, Innokin itaste VV/VW, various kindles, bluetooth headsets etc etc. As ever you should always do your own research, but I have never had a problem (and I have with some chargers). Nick

@kopiert There is nothing there that I wouldn`t disagree with. It clearly states that it will put out 2.4amps . As I said before if the istick develops a partial short because of a fault, that charger will allow it to supply up tp 2.4amps. The USB power supply will be absolutely fine but the faulty istick will be sucking 2.4 amps instead of a maximum of 1 amp which could be the difference between smoke and fire. It will be fine until something develops a fault which causes a partial short circuit. It would be literally like "adding fuel to the fire".
Imagine you have a frying pan on the stove, you`ve got the gas turned up a third. The frying pan starts to smoke. Do you turn it full up?

You are correct, I've heard the argument about if something goes wrong it will draw less current, but I would rather charge a 1A load on a 2A supply at a nice cool 50% of max output than on a smaller supply running at full blast. We plug equipment into 13A mains sockets every day. It's very rare that we actually need that much. Next time I charge my iStick I'll measure the current.

If you plug top PSU blows it could start a house fire if not noticed, but if a Lithium battery goes bang... I'll take the plug top PSU blowing every-time. Unless it is a bad one running a full current should be no problem anyway and not cause it to get hot.
