Hello all. For a while I've been feeling my juices just ain't doing it for me with my trusty 30 and 30s even with new coils. So I've decided to venture into the world of RBA's. Only after I'd bought my Fogger v4 and Igo-w did I twig that maybe my Vamo v5 and Coolfire 1 might not be upto the challenge ??? So first question on the chopping board is does anyone know how low they can go and still fire ohm wise. Next is what gauge Kanthal should I be using, would it be 28/0.32 or maybe 32/0.20? And lastly, can anyone recommend a nice fruit mix, tropical fruit juice because I'm sick to death vaping juice that tastes nothing like it's supposed to. I made the mistake of buying a Brit made fruit mix juice yesterday and it's foul! Much thanks

I know the vamo fires above 1.2ohms.
My preferred 'universal' wire is 28 gauge .3mm kanthal. Can get a pretty decent range of high and low ohm coils with that.
Stole this from ECF - might be some use to you!

Cheers Ripshod.
Seems to be a lot of varying advise out there regarding coils for non-sub ohm mods. Some are saying AWG28 for a good vape others are saying that wire for a newbie is going to be hard work. Then there's the AWG32 camp who are saying this wire is best for beginners and the ohms for my specific mods/RBA..?
It really is a minefield for those who don't know and new to all of this.. ???

Get a small length of a few various sizes, and working from the chart find the one that you prefer. It's really the only way

I got .7ohm happening! Not sure why. Precoiled wire from ft. I think its meant to be 1.5 but looks wider diameter and more wraps than the last lot which come out about 1.6/7/8 ohms

I don't think anyone would argue that the thicker the wire, the easier it is to work with as it tends to be less springy. The thinner the wire and higher the gauge then the more resistance you have so less wraps for the same resistance. Personally I like to have about 6-8 wraps on my single coil builds so 0.3mm is perfect for me getting 1.2-1.4ohm resistance. This lets me use the atties on mechs or vv/vw devices. Different people like different things, perhaps 0.28mm might be best (29awg) www.themeshcompany.com/products/0.28mm--280-Micron-or-29-AWG--248.html#SID=54to be honest at less than £2 for a 10 metre spool I would probably get 10 metres of a selection for trying out.

I find it strange as the FT coils are quite well liked.

Mate i would stay clear of coils made in china like, the kanthal wont be real, it will be summat like kanathiol, some chicken wire that will have a chopped a few Chinese chicken heads before some clone master wraps it up into some 1.6 ohm coils
Just get some wire from a uk supplier its like about 2 notes and wrap it round a drill bit
