Hmm, the problem would be, that you would have to have a separate top and bottom for each diameter rod, as it would have to fit tight in both top and bottom hole to work. There would not have to be any gap between rod and hole otherwise you would lose the wire down the gap when under compression. The costs to make and supply several sizes that would be required for the different internal diameter coils, would make it quite expensive. Our best hope is for our Asian suppliers to see the above video and produce them for about thrupence a pop.

I just thought the same thing, seeing as in the video he had a few more on the desk, probably of differing size mandrels, but I do like it and wouldn't mind paying a few squids extra to have say 5 in 0.5 mm different sizes 1mm to 3mm.

I want one but will it handle all wire gauges because the wire in the video is fairly heavy duty.

I run my own engineering workshop and the main problem i can see is with fine wire feeding onto the mandrill and springing back .

One way around is having shouldered pins held in with grub screws then just change the pin instead of different holders and pins.

Wow, can I have one as well please...... That looks like a brilliant idea, and I'd be happy with a 1.5 or 2 mm one, doesn't need to be interchangeable

Looks ok for the heavy gauges but I'd like to see it working with thinner wire.
Really like the idea as your folding it round the former, not twisting it which is what happens doing it by hand.

I see this as using a machine instead or your hands to crack an egg open.
