We did about 35-50 shows a year 15 - 20 would be between Oct / Nov  then you have new years.
Rest were weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvah, funerals, divorces, corporate events.
Quite often we'd launch the ashes of a deceased person to the heavens ( even had specially designed rockets to load said ashes into).
Rest of the time I had 2 other business on the go I was head chef at various places my favourite was club britannia. 5* fine dining resort. Also ran a tree surgery yard. Sold logs, compost which we made, wood chippings etc. 
Kept myself busy lol.

Hehe he some of the mahosive ones they fire are amazing.
Biggest we can legally fire in the UK is 16".

This is the moaf ( mother of all fireworks ) UK wise anyway lol.
I'm the one holding the shell. 16 inch multicolour chrysanthemum with silver strobe palm and tail.
It weighs 30 kilos
