I like the twisty sizzlers which shoot up in the air. Normally white and gold. Also the ones which twizzle of midair

Hmm twizzles are either tourbillions or if they make a wizzing farting sound they are lions.

igual at the Stockton Weekender Festival in 2011 , on the final night they announced there was a pyrotechnics show somewhere. Oooh fireworks I thought so headed off with the masses. It wasn't just fireworks though, it was a pyrotechnics team from France, and I have never seen a show like it, these guys literally played with fire. Totally amazing. Unfortunately I have no clue who they were.

May well have been group F in collaboration with kimbolton fireworks You are totally correct, I just looked it up.
When I got home after Stockton, I checked their webpage to see if they were going to be doing any other localish shows, and now you have given me the name it is indeed them.
I guess they are too big and too expensive to do little shows.

Ye lol they do shows £50k + normally lol. Tbh they are good but whomever picks their material needs a headslap 90% really good quality like you'd expect then they fire up a load of crud. To the untrained peeps still looks amazing but ocassionaly you see cheap or poorly made bits. Partucially in the lower calibre shells. I'm not picking though honestly

Do you mean they get paid as a company £50k, or that it costs them £50k to put the show on? Either way its a lot of bloomin money.
Their men who are performing in the shows must get paid mega, but they deserve it.
I couldn't believe they were at Stockton, its a small festival, most of it free to the public. You just paid a nominal amount to see the bands . That maybe why it ended last year, Group F wiped them out financially.

Normally say you wanted a display I'd come visit look at the site, get all info. You'd give me a budget say £10k now I could make that 10k last 24 hours or 24 seconds lol. So say you wanted an intense show lasting 10 mins I'd aim to burn 500-800 a minute and last 30 seconds 1k. So cost of fireworks would be in the £7500 2 men to prep 2 days £220 insurance contribution 600 4 guys on day not including marshals £600 rest goes to cover costs a bit of profit taxman etc etc. A lot of what we did was for charity. As we all had other jobs so we'd take a little beer money and give our time in trade for more fireworks for them. I started doing displays legally at 18 and we as a group over 12 years raised over £250k for charity, something I'm very proud of, we ran 3 events ourselfs catering, music, pyro, pig roast etc etc. And everything was donated after costs. Biggest event we did had 4k peeps on average.

Ye I do miss it a lot, this is the first year I haven't let anything off on bonfire night for ages lol. Think I'd piss the neighbours off if I let a 16" shell off in back garden Double glazing firms would like it though lol.
