Hi everyone, I am so glad I have found this forum. I have spent the past week trying to find an ecig online and I'm so frustrated because there are so many different types and brands I am on about 20 rollups a day and have been for many years now. I'm desperate to stop for my little boy. I have absolutely no idea which one to buy. Can I use any liquid? Do I need to get extras with the starter kits? I would like one that will last a long time and with good battery life. I have read the guide on here and definitely want one of the techy looking ones rather than a ciggy lookalike. I like the idea of controlling voltage and puff counts. Please can any of you lovely people help?

I was on about an 1oz of tobacco a day. This kit along with 18mg/ml juice got me off the tobacco with next to no cravings. I considered myself a heavy smoker, on 1 oz a day, drum tobacco, unfiltered and this kit made quitting much easier than I expected. Many people will advise mods like a MVP or vamo to beginners, but this kit is really easy to use and works great. It is the easiest starting point I know of. It i simple but it works well.. Later in your vaping journey, you may mant to move on to other devices, but this is a solid start, and I still use these devices at times myself. Thse are low maintainence, convenient and reliable, you couldn't ask for a better start IMO.

Aww thank you for the link. Well done on giving up, I'm a little dubious on whether or not these will work for me. But if it works for a drum smoker (I'm amber leaf) then I'm sure it will work for me. Thank you

Loving that that comes with coils and a spare battery! What's the difference between that one and the evod 2?

bluetulip I would heartily recommend the MVP, I started vaping back in January (after smoking 20 a day for 41 years), I bought an Evod starter kit and a spinner as a spare battery, it did the trick but I very soon wanted more, the MVP was my next step, they last for ages, they're rugged and you can even use them to charge your mobile I would suggest buying a spare spinner or similar for use when charging (although the MVP has pass through so you can still use it on charge) Either that or join the latest craze which is the istick (if you can find one) I dont have one of these but others seem to think they are the dogs doodahs. Whatever you choose on the decision to quit

The evod glass has glass tanks, the evod 2 has plastic ones. Some e liquids can crack plastic tanks so glass is recommended. As for the MVP, its a good option, but most beginners like something smaller and easier to carry about. Even now, I find an evod and battery useful at work where I cant have a large device in my pocket.

bluetulip that is a good starter kit, have a look at their liquids as well. If you want to try loads of stuff smokerainbow are superb because they have literally hundreds of samples for about 50p a throw. I smoked about 100 gm of drum/old holborn a week for over 40 years. Started vaping Feb 2013 and haven't smoked since. PS. from me.

Loving that that comes with coils and a spare battery! What's the difference between that one and the evod 2? Welcome It has glass tanks, bit better. The evod kit is good enough to start with and will get you of the tobbacco with a little will power. As Q just said if budget will allow also buy a MVP2 or istick, much better battery time and you can adjust the wattage ( throat hit) The evod tanks will fit fine. I personally think finding a good e juice you like is as, if not more important than the equipment used. Yes you can use any e juice (liquid) you want. I found the first week harder until I found an e juice I like and had plenty of equipment. Taste is personal but I recomend T-juice. 24-18mg to start with. 24mg if work, life only allows fag breaks, 18mg if you can vape all day if you so choose. Good luck.

+1 for the Evod kit. It will do the business, that's for sure, and even if you do want to upgrade in the future it will still be great for dog-walking, gardening, etc. as a back-up. Glass tanks avoid damage from tank-cracker juices, and with two batteries, you can vape on one whilst the other is on charge. Good basic juices at Myepack too, but if you fancy a change after you are off the stinkies, give us a holler and we can put you in touch with other juices according to your preferences. Oh, and welcome to the forum, BTW!!

Just to add as prr said smokerainbow is great for trying loads of juice samples until you find one you like. And as chyme as said I use an ego (evod) battery when out about so no need to buy anymore if you will always have charging power to hand, be it a 240v socket or car lighter socket. No one knows including you how much juice you will vape until you start hence why larger battery devices have been recomend.
I vape a lot of juice and can run a 650mah (one evod) down in an hour with heavy vaping, on the other end of the scale for others it will last all day.

Wow thank you all for the advice! You're all so helpful and quick at replying Ok I'm definitely going to get the glass evod and see how I get on before getting the istick Another question, do you think I should find a liquid that is like my tobacco brand? Or is there a recommendation for one to start with? I know this is such a girly thing to ask but I don't suppose that evod comes in purple? Lol Ty x

I think that's a good idea, the I stick packs a punch and may well be too much to start with. Get yourself a tobbacco to start with but also some fruits, custards etc. Taste is subjective but there is one juice that is liked more often than not, Red Astair by T-juice. link will have loads of girly wraps for you new evods. Good luck.

bluetulip. I started on the evod kit and within two weeks cut out my amberleaf out completely. The important thing is to start on something good but easy to use. Lots of help on this forum to talk you through any questions you have and then in the future with the money saved and knowledge about how vaping fits into your life if you choose to upgrade you can make smarter purchases. On the liquid side of things you have been given excellent advice 18mg if you can vape freely, 24mg if you want to vape like you smoked eg outside for a quick vape break.I would recommend getting a selection of liquids to try no more than 12ml sized bottles. One vendor I've found selling consistant liquids that don't break the bank and I ready to vape is Health-e-vape also don't forget the discount code found here forum discount and vendors list. You won't easily find a liquid that tastes like amber leaf, try and experiment with different flavours, including tobacco types. Yesterday I vaped stawberry cheesecake, rasberry ripple, menthol and a honey tobacco flavour.
