They do come apart but they are fitted together tighter than George Osborn's purse strings. You'll need a few tools ideally vice and pliers and sandpaper. Be prepared to break the pole off the base but if you get the top cap off then run a bit of sandpaper round em and they will pop apart again Np. Then its just a case of recoil them as per usual. Lots of peeps use the standard coils with extra spacer. Also virtual Vapes unicoil has specially measure rubber from its to take slack up.

Sounds like a lot of work igual . I was thinking of picking up some of those unicoils .what are they to recoil?

Ye when you get the unicoil it comes precoile/wicked. You get some instructions, different spacers for different tanks and some organic cotton wool.
