I confess I've been oohhhing over that (and wondering about the V3 Flash-e-vapor thingie) - looking forward to hearing what those who bought it think when it arrives.

Mine arrived in the UK yesterday, but I found this video that may be of assistance for cleaning them when they drop through the letter box.

Mine came today and I could smell the machine oil Dismantled and left to boil for 15mins, dried and lubricated and waiting for coils Have to say I'm quite impressed with the quality of these units, they look well constructed. Won't get to coil them till Sunday but they look like they'll perform. How are yours performing?

The no hole in the centre post is a pain for dual coil, for single you have to trim the positive flush or it will short on the fill screw. I am not convinces by the integrity of the negative connection to the deck. One of the dual coil volume reducers is not drilled correctly, the 3 mm holes don't accept 3 mm ss rope out of the box. Watch out for the centre post turning when you twist the top cap, I just got rid of those hot spots, no they are back. Once the top cap o'rings break in this should not be so easy to do, but it can give you red hot legs with the temp limit on. Also don't over-tighten the deck. I have been making life hard though using nickel with the DNA40 temp limiting and it is a learning curve to not get hot legs on the steel set up. I now a nice single twisted 0.16 mm nickel, 4/3 wraps on 3 mm ss rope build. Most of the fiddling has been due to the thinness of the nickel and the length of the legs, but I will find what works, a micro-coil would probably be quite easy, but I am not a fan of them on steel wicks. Note to non DNA40 owners: using Kanthal is probably much easier, the original has a good reputation. It is perdy & compact.

So how does the origin compare to a kraken? Is it as durable?(survive 5 ft drops on to asphalt?) Is it as easy to build?(Wow, seems I'm the only person on the forum that finds dual coil kraken builds easier than single coil kayfails). Can the origin produce huge ass clouds like the kraken and hold flavour as well as it's predecessor?
And just as important, how do they sit on a 22mm mod?

Not as bomb proof, but still pretty sturdy, probably handle a 5" drop, the main diff building is that the -ve terminals are further from the wick, there is no room to put washers on the +ve and the coil hight is shorter. One of the biggest design pluses for me is the deck is only about 3 mm thick so wicking is excellent and it takes larger wicks, upto 4.5 mm for cotton. I got the hang of a Kraken far quicker than a Kayfun, but can do Kayfun much quicker as I always take my time with gennys since builds last months & months. Clouds and flavour, bit early only had a single coil running, but probably better on clouds and similar on flavour. It looks the mutts nuts on a 22mm mod, I'll take a pic just for you.....

Not going to be playing with nickle on this for a while, just going to try a 1.1- 1.4ohm standard wrap around a mesh wick but I'm not holding much hope if you say that the flavour isn't much different to a kraken Mesh seems to strip the body from the Cocomel. I'll look out for the things that you mention, What happens if you over tighten the deck?

blakey you will jump a thread or even strip the thread on the body if you over tighten the deck. I have found that the deck screws are not threaded all the way to the top, this is probably why I have had some intermittent connection issues.
