Getting a bit frustrated at my p3 when my battery gets to around 67% after the next puff they suddenly drop to empty batteries are not lasting very long lucky if I get 2/3 hours out of a 18490 I average two of the recommended red imr high drain batteries and feel like I am constantly charging them 3 plus times a day if I use a 18650 it does last approx half a day but again suddenly drains I do have 2b boost and 3.7v the iq is 75 good ( though not sure what that is) have I got a dodgy p3 or am I doing something wrong?

I was having this problem too clairea. Although others say the boost makes no difference, on mine it did and when I reset the boost to zero, it did improve battery life. I was using mine with 18650 batteries and as soon as I went below 43% battery life it would go to empty. The vendor of mine has asked that it be returned for him to check it out. The electronics are deffo not correct.

I've noticed just before it drains the boost image flashes rapidly by the sound of it I'm wondering if there is a fault in the boost area of electronics now. In a way glad I'm not the only one it's happening to although sorry your going through same thing

Only Lobeys as mentioned above clairea but I've copied and pasted the symptoms to Provape, so they may be able to shed some light on it. I'll update you as soon as they reply.

I had an 18500 efest battery showing empty on the P3 but when I put it on charge it was showing 3.95v
I cleaned out the threads on the battery cap and the tube + I cleaned all the contacts on the P3 Then I cleaned the battery terminals on the battery Put same battery straight back in un-recharged and it showed 51% which was fair enough It lasted for a good while till empty and was showing 3.6v on charge which is about right for Boost 1 I think this P3s contact points need to be kept very clean to ensure that the pcb gets to read the correct info.

I have to say when I recharge the batteries it only takes half hour to recharge at most so they can't be that empty have taken off the boost now can't taste any difference anyhow. I've wonky had mine a few weeks at most but is clean all the contact once a week as I do with all my mods. Thanks VE Jason appreciate if you would let me know, half wondering if it's a faulty batch or if we are doing something wrong?

If you have a mech it may be worth running the batteries down a bit lower before charging. Takes a few cycles for these batteries to reach their best

They are too well tested to be a faulty 'batch' Claire - every single individual unit is tested. But, I can see the IQ function being disabled once we get the relevant equipment - its just too fussy for its own good.

I don't even know what the iq function is or does lol should read the manual a bit more. All I know is that I'm not impressed with it. I get a better vape from my zmax and legend than I do from this although I've have problems with tanks on them that I don't get with the p3 but even that brings up errors now and again with the pro tank but all I have to do is unscre it and put it back on and then it works fine again. My reference to a faulty batch is that at least two of us are having the same issue with batteries suddenly going flat when they are obviously not flat bearing in mind how quick they then charge up and got from half full to empty in a second. All my contacts are clean.
Wondering if they have slipped through the net so they could rush them out in time for the holidays. The only good points forward me are the engineering every slides on so smoothly and that it feels good in the hand perfect size for me with 18490 battery and the weight is not so bad it does lt set off my rsa or tendonitis as some of the other larger mods although the constant changing of batteries is causing a flare up, If I could have tried before I bought it I'm not sure I would have got one.
However if there is a fault with the one I have and that it can be resolved I'm more than willing to change my opinion on it, but at present its gone back in the box and I have gone back to my legend.

Hi Im using 18650's and normally get a good day from one battery, even when down to 5% the tape is as good as when its at 99%, I'm also using boost level 2
Sounds to me like you have a faulty one
Hope that helps and if you need any further info please just ask

I'm sure it will get sorted clairea, Provape have a great reputation for reliable mods and I'm sure jason will sort it for you as well as reporting the issues back to PV. They'll be keen to iron out any gremlins too. the IQ reading is a measure of the batteries internal resistance but also includes the resistance of the battery connections to the mod spring and circuit board contact so if the contacts aren't clean it will affect the IQ Reading down. what IQ reading are you getting, if your not sure how to check, just enter the menu and select for example wattage up but then don't change the wattage value, it will then scroll through various values one of which is your IQ reading. What IQ a are you getting ?

To add to my previous post - also make sure the the battery end cap is screwed on all the way, there needs to be no gaps between the cap and the tube. If the battery is too long and causes the cap to not screw all the way down then it will result in poor electrical conductivity which will trick the mod into thinking it's dealing with a depleted battery.

The strange thing about the IQ is that if you are getting a low reading (mine consistently said it was 15 & Bad), by unscrewing the end cap, the IQ level would rise. Common sense says it should be the other way around, but no, the less contact the higher the IQ reading!!!!
A battery that the P3 said was empty yesterday morning, I then put into a Zmax at 11am and that ran out at 5pm. Something not right somewhere.
Oh well, my beloved P3 is now in the hands of that "caring/sharing" firm called the GPO. Hopefully soon to be returned in fine fettle.
