Been sucking on my tip (hur hur) with a juice I made ages ago but didn't get on with in other mod/atty combos, a homemade RY4. Mmmm baccy taste. How I have missed you.

Also of course, with a rayon build the instant taste change we know happens on drippers, also applies to RBA low-res nickel builds I wager. Just finished a tank of RY4, switched to Custardy Lovechiild (another home made juice) and the flavour is there from the first toot. Having no residue clinging seems to be enhanced with nickel/low res (whichever it is).

Jesus just checked my post times. 20 mins to vape out a tank (KFL clone) of RY4 and replace with Custard. This is at 25W and I'm no cloud chaser, but a serial tooter. It eats juice!

My sweet spot at the moment. 0.20 ohms, 23 watts, 430 degrees. I like it a lot.

Liking this vaporshark rdna40. A lot. My only brain-ache atm is that I may, just may be able to clutter together a working home made mod with the bits on order (waiting for the 3d printed bezel ,that looks incredibly good).

So I finally made a coil with the correct wire and got up and running. Just to make sure I built 3 more to prove it wasn't a fluke. The 4 were all on a 2.5mm dia former: Spheroid; Two strands 0.20 twisted 11 wraps contact coil 0.24 Ohms Squape(R); Single 0.20 10 wraps contact coil 0.32 Ohms KF 3.1; Three strands 0.16 twisted 6 wraps spaced coil 0.14 Ohms Spheroid; Single 0.25 9 wraps contact coil 0.25 Ohms The Squape(R) and the KF were an ok vape but nothing special. Tried a variety of temps from 380f-430f but aggressive (flashing) TP kicked in quickly even at moderate power so I seemed to be vaping at 2-5w most of the time. Totally different with the Spheroids. At 380f-420f I could set 25w and it would hold that all through a 4-5 sec draw and only if I chain vaped would the TP cut in and power would drop below 25w, but even then not enough to flash. The flavour was full and mouth filling and made the other two atties seem a little insipid. I experienced the same as davetherayon regarding consumption, the Spheroids are limited anyway but they emptied way faster than normal. Maybe because they are a filler style attie, but I also noticed a tail off in performance with them much like when a battery is getting low on a mech. A quick refill and they were away again. I vaped the Spheriods most today and found going to 430F and above was to hot a vape for me and 390-410 gave the best flavour. A constant 18w-25w at those temp settings made for a really good vape.I guess upping the watts may have produced more vapour but that's not my thing really. Not sure how to interpret all this yet, I need to try the Spheroid builds in the other two.

@scooby the Kayfun could probably do with more wraps, I have had 3 goes with the Orchid and found I wasn't making big enough coils, the latest is twisted 3 strands of 0.16 mm on a 2.5 mm former, 12 wraps, Rayon wicks, 0.13 ? and vaping at 410-420° F. Before I had use fewer wraps (using 2 strand 0.16 mm twisted) and it wanted to get too hot to work well, I also think the 3 strand twisted copes better with the rubbish terminals on the Orchid clone.

Certainly is a fickle thing, had a dry hit this morning on a Spheroid that was working perfectly last night, dropped out of TC and reverted to volts, no obvious signs as to why Rebuilt with 8 wraps of 0.25 contact coil 0.2 Ohms and vaping great at 420f and holding 20w throughout the draw. Kayfun on the other hand is now performing very well with the 0.16 three strand twisted, maybe nickel needs some time to bed in? will be experimenting more with the three 0.16 wire VapingBad

This seems to work at least in the build I just made; spaced coils. 8 winds of 0.3mm nickel on a 3mm screwdriver, with coils spaced so it fits just in the centre of the Kayfun. Came in at 0.17 ohms. I ran it slowly up from 10 watts and while it was going cloudtastic at 30W, it was a bit warm for me so dropped it back to 25W. It hasn't gotten close to 480F at that power, and isn't doing what other coils did which was to drop back to 2 to 5 watts (sign of crappy coil building I know).

Finally got some 0.2mm nickel, twisted pair coil, 0.22 ohms bedded in on the Kayfun (again). Very nice indeed for vapour & taste. Also I did a Squape, 0.3 ohms wire 9 wraps came in at 1.1 ohms (!) - but with rayon wick, seems to heat up quickly and drop back to 4-7 W. Still, practice practice.

My favourite ATM is the ChiOrigenny V2 6/5 wraps of twisted 0.16 mm Ni200, 3 mm dual ss rope wicks with 500 mesh, 0.13 ohm at 420 F. I had to do a few of mods on the clone atty to get the conductivity as out of the box it was terrible. Just steam cleaned, built a couple of weeks ago. You can vape at almost any speed of air intake with great results as it wicks like Oliver Reed on New Years Eve without ever flooding. So the temp limit is like a feedback control for the power maintaining the flavour in line with the air flow. E: I didn't flame or anneal the wire beforehand.

2no. Kayfuns 29g (that's all i got) 3dia, think around 8 wraps. .2 ohms, spaced coils. VS set at 20watts 430f Both when full the temp wouldn't go past about 7 watts. After a while and the juice dropping was around 12 watts, which is about as high as I get my cloned kayfuns before dry hits. Is 12 watts max normal for a Kayfun or is it me? And does the head of juice have an effect, why the change? Orchid today decided to go the other way, smaller coils less wick. 1.8 dia 29g 12 wraps each, tightly spaced. Small bit of cotton dropped into juice channels. Too tight for a mech...! Polished a tank in no time, 20watts 430f and didn't see/notice temp control cut in once.
Edit it to add; kinda jumping in the deep end here but least the DNA40 is teaching me, not dry burnt shitty hits...!
