I have a mate who was a regular 30 a day smoker, a few months ago I talked him into trying vaping as it will help him health wise and financially, he has done the last few months spending a fortune on cheap batteries and clearomisers from vape shops and garages.

The reason he called round was that I had ordered him an Istick and a kanger aero tank, filled it with space jam astro..........Jesus Christ talk about a kid in a sweet shop, the daft herbert was kart wheeling around the kitchen due to the difference proper vaping kit provides.

The lesson he learned was buy cheap, buy twice........and I feel good about myself

Great news Dave. He was a smoker, converted to vaping... now he's on step 2 of his ladder of vaping (though if he stops on step 2 - good for you mate, whatever keeps you off the stinkies)!

I bought some cheep s#!t when I first started, luckily found the AACE and went to a vape meet (thanks zeldamum). Haven't spent that much, just bought some half decent tanks etc, so well done to you Dave for helping.

I have been badgering my mate, who uses roll-ups, for about a year now to give vaping a try.

But he insisted on buying cig-a-likes from the local grocer, using them for a day or so and then going back to his rollies.

Eventually he got himself a Vamo and I gave him some e-juices and some spare batteries.

The Vamo has never been out of his hand since and he hasn't touched a rolly for over a month.

Another convert!

I just hope the Scottish Government don't spoil it all as they are threatening to do.

Honestly if you get someone to try some decent gear and juice they really won't go back - the difficulty is always getting them to try.

I've had more than moderate success in my gradual conversions - there are about 50 regulars in the smoking shelter at work - 12 months ago there were about 3 of us vaping - these days its about 50/50 - my little vaping 101 email went viral and now I mix and recoil for about half a dozen and others are outpacing me.

Down to one last smoker in my workplace. I emailed all the staff that smoked and offered them a weeks loan of a battery and mini protank 3 with a supply of juice. WE had 5 smokers, 3 took up the offer, and one other tried the kit for one lunchtime and ordered her own. How to get the last off the stinkies...I dunno, but he's nt getting me krakens mwahahahaha.

Seriously though, I don't wanna nag the guy so just told him the offer to try out some gear is there for him. Unfortunatly, liqua (sh)ites put him off vaping with their underperforming, overpriced starter kits.

Aberdeen has been greatly helped as a city by Cameron's vape shop in school hill. Was talking to a lassie who was selling me cheap choc (on offer) from spar for weeks and having a stinkie outside the other day. I said 'have you tried the e-cig' 'no but am going to in the New Year and heard the shop in school hill (cameron's shop) is good'. I'm like - too right it is! Cameron is a lovely friendly chap and deserves all the blessings he gets!!! (it's called e-cig scotland if you found this via google and is next to Boots, opp St Nicholas Kirk, where the old Jewsters used to be. Has blue and white frontage).

Of course back in the day when I converted it was 'cig alike or mech mod' but with the right strength juice I was soon sorted

Amazing how the 'little things' can make all the difference and to shop cigalikes if they don't work for you (a few they do. I've heard of folk getting off the stinkies with them but I've also heard of more folk saying they 'don't like e-cigs' because of them)
