I've got a Kayfun clone, coiled with 7 turns of 28awg Kanthal, it reads 1.05 ohms on the meter. I've used cotton wool for the wick, the method that must of the vids seem to recommendwith about 1cm sticking out either side and tucked down into the space over the juice channels.
it gives a nice warm vape, great flavour, but a very harsh, tickly hit in the lungs and throat.
is there something I could change to give more of a solid hit, larger gauge wire but more turns etc?
it's difficult to describe a feeling so I hope my description makes sense

Ok theres a few things you can change. Starting with the easiest adjust the coil height above the airhole, I cant remember which way round kt works but pretty sure higher coil is more throat hit. 2nd make a higher res coil, 1 ohm is quite low for an average kayfun coil, on a mech it equates to roughly 18w at 4.2volts. Try a 1.2ohm coil next build. 3rd reduce pg. Finally you could try reducing nic in yoir juice rba's especially kayfuns are mlre efficient at delivering nic, nic also equates to throat hit

What pg/vg ratio is the juice that you're using fella? I always set my kayfuns like this Found that to give the best wicking

I probably could've given more info in my OP
I'm using Chef's Vapour 12mg, 50/50. I originally had it coiled at 1.3 ohms but had to take a huge drag to get any decent hit out of it. The main reason I'm so dissatisfied is that compared to using an Aerotank with Virtual Vape coil vaping at 8 watts with the same juice, it's far inferior. I was expecting better.
Dan, yes it's coiled like that except that my coil is in line with the juice channels rather than being at an angle like yours.
