Hi all Been vaping on a vamo for the last 12 months with an evod tank and now think im kinda on old kit. I dont get the throat hit anymore that I crave. I see and read up a little on the sub tanks but I get a little confused on what mod I should purchase. Do I need a 30w or 50w to give me the power for the throat hit. Above all I really need to find something that delivers the strong hit I require. Can anyone please give me some advice pls. Im quite likely to buy the mod from fasttech to keep costs down Thanks for any help

Heyas what liquid are you vapeing? For throat hit you might want to try a higher pg juice. Failing that you need a mod that can safely fire down to 0.3 ohms if you want to go sub ohm route. Tbh I'm not best to answer that as I rarely sub ohm. I would hazard a guess at an ivp 50w or similar with an Atlantis tank or if you are happy coiling a dripper might be the way to go with a good mech mod and battery.

Unless your buying an authentic from fasttech I'd get the mod elsewhere as a lot of the clones can be problematic if your after a cheap upgrade an eleaf I stick and mini nautilus would suit you and should satisfy you for a while. If your looking for cheaper you need to look at rebuildables which is a whole different area.

Depends on what your currently on? 70/30 is a mix standard to a lot of commercial premade mixes. I believe that you can also get something called bitextra if you mix your own you could try adding that www.flavourart.co.uk/bitextra-enhancer-100ml.html

As a first (and cheaper) step up I would suggest a dual coil atomiser. This will give you a better quality flavour and vape, combined with perhaps a higher nic juice to give you the throat hit you are looking for. Something like the Protank 3, Aerotank Mega, or even a Nautilus would give you that option. If you are into recoiling yourself, all of these are easy to do, and with a microcoil and cotton wick, you will only have to do it every 6 weeks or so. Failing that there are companies around who will sell you a Kanger head with a microcoil installed, with some spare cotton too, and all you have to do is rewick, which is really easy. A microcoil will massively improve the quality of your vape, and for a very small outlay too. Once you have decided on this, then you can start saving for a box mod.

I mix at 80-20 PG, just stick a better tank on the vamo, up your PG ratio, and you'll be fine Don't discount the vamo, every vaper should have one (as I've mentioned many times before )

An evod is not the best device for getting good throat hit and turning the power just makes things taste burnt. Not very fashionable at the moment or particularly good looking but great throat hit are the top coil clearos such as the iclear16 or iclear30 (not S or B) and the heads last for weeks

I'd recommend a nautilus with BVC coils if you're wanting to up the power andyh, they can handle 15watts and up no problem

andyh I really don't think you have to go down the sub ohm route for better throat hit Mix your own and play with the PG/VG ratios Also variable power (VV/VW) mod should help And building your own coils. All these (asides from the variable power mod) shouldn't cost much Cotton wool/rayon debate varies. I got a load of amazon which works fine for me. But you can also get these - www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/simply-gentle-cotton-wool-pleat/-60093892 which are easy to use to rewick. you just have to ?tear? a bit off and then tease out a wee bit (see you tube) - wet the end (saliva) and make a decent point (not too many thin strands) however you like then thread through coil. That's how easy it is to rewick a coil I change my cotton every day practically when the Throat hit goes pear shaped . Doesn't take long

Cotton does make a difference with the vape and yes organic is better but if your not sure boil it for half an hour rinse repeat and then dry and your good to go that's how I prep my cotton although different people do things differently. Thing to remember when using cotton is it expands when wet so when you rewick you want to be able to pull the wick with only a little resistance back and forth within the coil. I know a lot of people are raving about sub ohming but you don't need that to get the satisfaction you want and there are other elements to it you need to be knowledgeable on in order to do it safely even with tanks like the Atlantis or kanger sub tank plus I get the feeling your like me and are vaping on a budget sub ohming will increase your liquid usage quite a bit. This forum in the short time I've been a member has shown me that it has people that can and will help you every step of whatever way you go but don't be rushed by anyone and only progress at a rate your comfortable and happy with

A microcoil with cotton wool wick will far out-perform a stock head. Re-wicking takes minutes once you've done it a few times, and is cheap as chips. The advantages? A much more consistent vape, with loads more flavour and throat hit (TH). I remember the first time I successfully made a microcoil and used cotton wool - the TH was fantastic without any burnt hits, and the wick lasts about 3 days of average vaping.
