You may know that French vapers have organised a Vaping Flash Mob for 11th January. The idea is to meet up with other vapers and wear or bring something orange. The Vaping Flash Mob Facebook page.A London vaping flash mob is proposed - we will meet outside BMA House, Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9JP from 12pm on 11 January. Here's a link to show why the venue is appropriate. This will be the anniversary of the day last year when lots of vapers met outside BBC offices throughout the UK to protest at the lack of fair media coverage on vaping.

don't do facebook but the word "mob" is not typically associated with postive action, maybe "group" would be a little more adapt. Ha ha.

Here's the reason for the vaping flash mob (copied from the Vaping Flash Mob Facebook page): "We all know that EFVI didn't succeed as we wished... In order to deliver our message to the medias, we will need to get all onboard. You will need to gather vapers and supporters and have a vape flashmob a public place one or more people to take pictures and movies the group will be on the spot at a certain time to make cloud or two all together then split Wether you are in a large or a small city, no matter, everybody can participate !!! It would be nice if we could collect as many pictures as possible from all over the world. If we are legions the press will talk about it (you can invite them)... So, share this page, you can organise your local event here (just put a # before the location), or you can decide to make a page for your own country."

Oh yeah let's make cloud or two together in public place ???
Seems somewhat counter productive to me.
The general public will think oh look at all that smoke, that looks worse than smoking. I'm not of the belief there's no such thing as bad publicity.
Some things no matter how well intentioned really aren't thought out too well.

Yes Greg I agree with you too. Subjecting passers by to clouds of vaper is not going to help vaping at all. But - if you take out the "make cloud or two" bit then is it such a bad idea for vapers to get together to protest at the impending legislation?

This whole vaping flash mob idea hasn't exactly taken off in the UK But - there is a far bit of concern amongst us UK vapers over the regulations -and we are now in a election year -can we think of a better for us to show our anger?

im not sure what difference election year makes, I certainly wouldn't vote based just on vaping
For me the reality is no govt will tolerate the loss of revenue from cigarettes and all the arguments and facts in the world won't change that. If everyone stopped smoking tomorrow the economy would collapse and so the only way forward is for them to minimise the uptake in vaping to sustain ciggy tax or replace ciggy tax with vaping tax.
As I've always said its about money, I may not like or agree with it but it is reality.
How can a govt ban smoking ads, put warning labels on packets, preach it bad for you and people should quit, criticise smokers as a burden on the NHS whilst at the same time raking in billions in tax from them. Easy, they are two faced hypocrites and nothing is likely to change that regardless of the party in power.

Without the past efforts to defend vaping in the UK/EU it would already have been banned. So it has already been demonstrated that vapers Can make a difference. This year is make or break, worldwide, for vaping. Not the time to sit on your hands, Or to think its pointless. We do have lots of influential support, but without individuals speaking up, they are powerless To help.
