Especially with Coffee concentrate. To ease this problem is it better to have more or fewer turns, higher or lower resistance (wire thickness) smaller or larger diameter?

What pg/vg ratio are you using Jim? I usually use 80vg but have to drop down to 50/50 to get the best out of a coffee flavour, especially if it is creamy (vanilla / caramel etc)

jmw2309It's C9V Classic Coffee, but had the same problem with my own concentrate (coffee + PG) I've used both 35/65 and 50/50 (PG/VG) Jim

I don't use coffee or desert flavours in a low ohm build as a rule. I tend to stay around the 1.2 ohm mark with them.
Saying that I am currently vapjng some custardy lovechild in my Atlantis with stock 0.5ohm head and it is lovely.
Not much help at all then I am afraid. Sorry Jim!

Thinking out loud here and the more experienced may well be along soon but I would say a spaced coil might help, ie less area for the juice to pool.

Are you wicking with cotton Jim? No, with Silica wick, but thinking of cotton wool as it's easy to re-wick an existing coil even if it does burn through!

It may be worth trying a thinned out VG in your mix to extend the amount of time before gunking. It will slow a little the caramelisation of the juice on the coil, other than that there isn't much you can do.

I Vape mainly Custard and use a 0.7 ohm micro coil with cotton wick in the heron or GT. It's 50/50 mix and I generally just give it a Dry burn every couple of Days and re wick. I've had the same coil in the GT for about Eight Weeks now!!!

Gunking is a fact of life I'm afraid. Tease your wick out of the coil and then fire with no wick, the coil will smoke as the gunk burns off when the coil stops smoking carefully thread a new wick and you should be good to go again! jevans

Have you tried the jap cotton pads either the commercial ones or organic ones? They wick better than standard cotton and I think do taste better.
