An older lady who I work with, who doesn't do the internet or credit/debit card payments, found a disposable e-cig in a local shop for £10 It claims to be equal to 40 ciggies

Karma , if you go to e-lites website there is a map which shows where you can get there's www.e-lites.co.uk/local/, nearest to you appears to be Gala, don't know if you do outings with your clients ? Out of all the cig alikes I tried they were probably the most expensive but its an introduction, they were ok didn't use them much cos by that point I was sick of constantly swapping batteries so was very happy when Chrissie found me on ECF and introduced me to the Riva

I run user led groups in the community, so don't really do outings! One guy has got himself one of those e-lites from Tescos in Gala but he's not too impressed. The other problem is USB chargers, I know it's simple enough to buy a wall adapter but it's just another hurdle for people who are not comfortable with technology. Another person today knew of someone who had bought a kit on the internet for £70 They now all think i'm loaded with all my bling shineys, lol I still can't believe that shops are selling disposables for £10, for another £10 they could have bought a nice bling kit like I got on special offer the other day

I could probably sell them chargers they amount of ciggie alike kits I bought .................
Ohh Freshcigs who were the first (and cheapest) cig alike I used are supposed to be sponsoring Britains Got Talent , wonder if that will change peoples minds ? I quite liked them took two months of shopping around before I realised that I was never going to find one that didn't need charging every five minutes nor would one carto ever be equivalent to 40 cigs, well maybe if I lit each fag took one drag then put them out they would be..............

Me too, but if I gave someone a faulty charger I would end up in big trouble. Health and Safety

I've been thinking about these disposables. How can they possibly be equal to 40 ciggies? The batteries I pressume will not last very long, much like the cig-a-like ones? So even if there is enough juice in them to equal 40 cigs, the batteries will run out before you've vaped it all?

Especially on the following page Very interesting (until it got too complicated for me). It certainly seems to be in agreement with my thoughts that this lady has been ripped off and probably will not want to try any more e-cigs. If it doesn't live up to it's claim, do you think it would be worthwhile to take it back to the shop?

Well if you do, I think at best you get your money back and you find out if e-cigs are for you and to look for something better. At worst you lost a few quid but you find out if e-cigs are for you and to look for something better. The rumour is thats why Tescos have started to take them off the ciggy counter, people returning them cos they didn't last as long as they say.

I was just thinking Jemima that if enough people complained then the manufacturers of the disposables would stop making such inflated claims! There probably is a place for these disposables if they are sold at a fair price for what they are!
Martin that is a great idea. Just because we are computer literate and comfortable researching and buying over the internet we forget that there are still many people out there who do not have internet access and wouldn't know what to do with it if they did have it!

I've actually been thinking it would be a good idea if we tried to compile a forum letter and a member from each Metro newspaper area wrote in to their regions version, with the same version of the letter and we tried to get it published them all on the same day . The Scottish edition recurring theme this week has been addiction so it also ties in with that....

Potentially it would be an amazing way to promote Ecig and the health benefits compared to smoking etc.. (not sure how the legal side would work if required etc and all that) but there's a lot of anti smoking groups etc, could maybe get sponsoring of some sort.. of course then would need a bus and a driver etc.. hmm and then products to demonstrate (And sell etc).. doable though I guess..psychadelic AAEC Magic Bus!..
but the public love stuff like that!..
I love the letter idea too Kirsty.. I still see soo many people smoking the nasties, and think maan I whish you would try an ecig etc, though of course it's their choice.. but be nice to walk past vape clouds instead of analogue ones...

On the school run today the guy parked next to me was vaping a cig-a-like. I had a Riva and had to stop myself knocking on his car window to say 'hey mate, mine is bigger than yours'!
