I just pulled the trigger on a new ss plume veil 1.5 by tobeco and smpl clone. Also bought the efest imr 30A flat top battery, charger, ohm meter, volt meter, cotton wicks, and kanthal A1 24g. It's my first rda purchase and I am gonna try building coils on this set up.. did i do good on my first purchase? would you guys prefer a dual coil or quad on rdas? is it really necessary to purchase some pliers and clippers?

My only concern is that apparently the eFest 30a aren't true 30a, they are more like 20a continuous. Tagging VapingBad and Ripshod as they will be able to tell you the safe lowest ohms you should build with those batteries

Tagging VapingBad and Ripshod as they will be able to tell you the safe lowest ohms you should build with those batteries They are confusing and as far as I can tell this is probably what they are: 1600 mAh are supposedly Sony VTC3 30 A 2100 mAh are supposedly Sony VTC4 30 A, BUT can't be sure link3100 mAh are supposedly Panasonic NCR18650BD 10 A, some ppl said they were Panasonic NCR18650BE but Torchy says they are BD. The 2500 mAh 35 A are supposedly LG18650HE2 20 A Personally I won't buy from a company that keeps selling batteries with the pulse rating rather than the continuous rating and you never know if they change which battery they rewrap. Efest don't make batteries, they rewrap bought in batteries.

So long as you treat that efest 30Amp battery as a 20 amp you can't go too far wrong - giving a minumum theoretical build of 0.21ohms. My personal feeling is to advise not to go below 0.3ohms for safety, if you decide to keep it vincy2699 The 2500 mAh 35 A are supposedly LG18650HE2 20 A All the evidence provided by torchy seems to confirm this, even though he still seems to be advertising them as 35 Amp. Tip of the week: Never buy a battery with 'fire' in the name. The NCR18650BD are rated at 10Amps, while the BE variant is rated at just 3.6Amps.

The problem is Sony has stop selling the VTC4 and VTC5. Its impossible to find a legit one without it being fake or china made today. If it's genuine then its probably expensive as hell and sold separately, not in pairs. Of course, before buying the Efest 2100 30A.. I did some research of my own and found these. Note the close up of the battery, it says pulse rate of 60A and the graph seems to indicate it is in fact a re wrapped battery.

I think i`ll go with the samsung besause it`s not the first time i`ve read that the Sony batteries are snides and they`ve stopped making them, i`ve always used efest purple but i`m not happy about what i`ver just read tbh, are the Samsung imr and safe chemistry type batteries ? i do prefer to use those as well, even though most vv/vw mods have built in protection now and is the LG battery mentioned imr ? appreciate the info m8 thanks.

I've not used the Samsungs personally, I just remember when peeps that actually know what they're talking about recommend them VapingBad or Ripshod are our resident battery experts, one of them will be able to confirm, but I am pretty sure the 25rs are the safe chemistry ones

Yep. Although the chemistry is slightly different (based on an NCA construction), they are classed as a safe chemistry battery (they vent without a flame). Perfectly safe to use. Point to note. The new revamped AW IMR batteries are also contenders now, so long as you get genuine ones. Rated at 20Amps now Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminium Oxide, before anyone asks

vincy2699- if you seriously don't know what a microcoil is, then I would respectfully suggest that you make one, yes one, and get thoroughly used to vaping on that first. I have been vaping on homemade microcoils for well over a year and I still don't consider myself sufficiently skilled to attempt a quad coil yet. Apart from anything else, you need to be able to rewick, dry burn, check your ohms on something reliable (NOT an iStick!), and be able to make good micrcoils each and every time before you should even think about a dual coil. If any of this terminology baffles you, I suggest kicking back with a glass of your favourite refreshment and doing some serious Google research (and this forum, of course!) on how to build single coils first. I don't want to come across as a party pooper, but I would like to be able to converse with you here in a week's time. If a battery vents in your face or seriously burns your hand this will not be possible. Batteries are only safe if you don't use them - as soon as you start loading them they are potentially very dangerous.
