It all depends on which form the silicon is in. At the end of the day pyrex glass can contain up to 75% silicon dioxide.
There is no need to panic - only you will be able to tell if your juice is interacting with the insulator - plus Pluid can always be the exception.

You guys are going over my head, it just looks like gunky s..t to me that I don't want to inhale...! My ATV Is Druid (which looks similar to what this guy is using) with plastic tanks/sections at least I can see it leaching and replace, this takes 6mm of juice without view of the insulator so didn't fancy using mine with the deck.
Don't matter to me now as I lost mine drunk last night but still looking for a atty with replacement coils to beat my areotank and it will not be kanger it they dont respond or come clean and send out replacement insulators.

i have two of these on the go, and when i read this i emptied and checked the insulator, both were solid no issues, i have sent a message to kangertech with concern about this, it is quite frightening if this can happen. anyway i will be checking all the time now.

Watching with interest too.I have a Kanger Sub-Tank,and so far by the sounds of it,been lucky with the leakage,no leaks anywhere on it.Never tried it with any known Tank cracker juices though.

Before anyone gets too concerned about this video remember he is using pluid which has problems with a lot of things we don't know if the tank he's using is a final retail product or one of the earlier revisions and were also not completely clearon the power he is pushing through the tank. Druid is not a problem with the rba section I've run numerous tanks through it and the insulator was absolutely solid. Whilst I'd like to hear a response from kanger im not worrying about this atm as I have not been able to replicate this even with liquid that's destroyed PC tanks in short order. I also can't rule out this guy has an agenda as there are some shenanigans going on between a few company's atm playing silly games.

Good to here you've run Druid though yours with no problems ........this thread has gone quiet, I don't do facebook, you tube look at any other forums etc. so yes the benefit of doubt I gave the guy has dwindled. Maybe using a hoodie and a webcam is a clever tactic........although no news from Kanger either though, only want to know what the material is, can't be that hard to confirm to their customers can it?

I think kanger responded in the video comments saying they would look into it and if this issue didn't happen in their testing they will need time to test and replicate although as I said I ran some destructive liquids through mine and had no issues so I think a combination of factors are in play with this that are not normal for most vapers. Time will tell we all know Chinese quality control can be slack now and then he giving benefit of the doubt might have just got a duff one as no one else has chimed in to say they have this issue that I know of.

Reply from Kanger
The insulator is PC materials which we used in normal clearomizer.
However in the market, some juice like PLUID may attach this insulator.
Our engineers are now studying this case to improve it.

They have put their hands up and looking to improve it, a positive response I have no problem with. Well done kanger and well done self regulation and the little guy.

I've been trying hard to replicate this even using some friends pluid which I don't like as its very strong but still can't get my insulator to go soft only thing I can think is that my SIG 50 cannot push enough power and I don't have a higher wattage mod at hand atm. Good that kanger has responded and if they replicate the problem I'm sure they will offer a replacement insulator but for me I'm happy that my rba section is safe to vape with what I normally vape.
